ID request please - Victoria, Gippsland region
    #24425671 - 06/22/17 02:11 AM (6 years, 9 months ago)

Hi all,
Total noob here! I'm hoping for an ID on these fellas. They were growing in the bush amongst wood chips, fallen gum leaves, and grass. They seem to tick all the boxes for subs except the stems didn't really bruise blue when fresh. The dried ones you can see in the photos seem to have the bluing though. I'm not really sure how long it takes the blue to appear - should it be fairly instant? or within minutes/hours?

I have some other mushies to ID but I'll put them in a separate post as to not get confusing. Thanks heaps

Thanks for the ID. Can you shed any light on why they don't really bruise blue when fresh? Or does it just take a while?

With age and/or stress they should bruise blue. Could very well be wrong but seems as those are pretty young

To be fair, I have a bit of an advantage knowing that they grow in a few patches around the property where I live.  Also I've been hunting for a while!

Thanks! Hopefully the two patches I've found will take off with a little rain.
I thought they'd go weedy down there in tassie too? No?
