Opera!

I've been meaning to do this for a long time but last night I finally switched web browsers from IE to Opera. I can't recommend it enough. Opera beats Internet Explorer in almost every way. It's totally customizable in every aspect, and it makes web browsing 10 times easier. The main things I like about it (that IE doesn't have) are: you can open pages in new windows with a single click, close open pages without going all the way up to the corner to click the X (yeah I'm lazy), and automatically maximize new pages that open.
I highly recommend it if IE has ever pissed you off like it constantly did to me.

i liked opera but then i started getting problems with it, plus it was not always faster than IE as it promised. My problems where mainly with some pages saying that opera was not supported and other times the pages just would not load but that may have been just me.
btw i was using version 7

I use Opera. Yes, there are sites that have issues with it. I contact the administrators of said sites. Usually they fix the problem. If not then I stop visiting their site. I have no time for closed-minded, dumbass, wannabe, web undevelopers who write a site, see that it works in IE, and call it job well done.
I remember when Opera's claim to fame was the whole prog fitting on a single 1.44Mb floppy.

I used to use Opera, but I recently switched to Mozilla Firefox. They're both pretty good browsers.

I love both but for the desktop i prefer firefox. It's amazing how those plugins work, possibilities are endless. Opera biggest fault is lack of good javascript compatibility and some style quirks but i must admit it's the fastest browser. I love it when i run Opera in the Sony P800 mobilephone or in the Sharp Zaurus handheld.... damn, i love my job

I was an opera elitist for a while. I loved it and I made fun of people with IE cause I hated it so much. But recently I started using firefox because of all the talk about it around here, and I got the tabbrowser extension or something like that and now firefox has all aspects of opera that I liked plus an amazing download manager. And its just fast as fuck.

Opera's awesome. After I read your post I shook my head and wondered why you couldn't recommend it. Then I proceeded to read your post again... lol
It's definitely a great browser. I've been using it for years now and I don't think I could ever go back to internet explorer!! It's true that you'll run into a page or two and you'll get a couple errors, but it's better than viruses, homepage/searchpage jackers, trojans, spyware, random crashes, and the like. I could go off about opera forever!

Like a lot of the others, I used Opera up until recently when I switched to FireFox. The only thing I don't like about FireFox is the inability for the software to guess what the next page is. Being able to go forward on a site without finding the next link is something FireFox will need in its next version.
