Double extraction water and alcohol. 50% alcohol soak for 2-3 months and then a distilled water decoction which was simmered for a few hours before being strained and mixed with the alcohol 50/50 resulting in a 25% alcohol tincture.

I did the same extraction and have been taking a little every morning in a glass of water. This is a good extraction method and in the fridge the tincture has not gone bad.

I've heard it was better to not re-use the mushrooms from the ethanolic extract, because it might be that the alcohol denatures the medicinal substances. Any thoughts on that?

Even so i would think you would be picking up a lot of the medicinals from the first alcohol extract. I read there is other goodies that are not extracted by the alcohol and that is why it is said to boil as well. I don't know though.
I haven't really been able to tell a difference why taking this. But i am sure its not hurting me so i keep taking a small amount most mornings.

Usually, medicinal mushrooms are actually better extracted with water. The medicinals are usually complex sugars and dissolve better in water, plus, the cell walls are made of chitin, which doesn't get broken down by ethanol, but it does get broken down by simmering in water. When you make a medicinal extract of coriolus by simmering, and add ethanol for preservation, you can see the sugars clouding up in the water due to the diminished solubility of the sugars in the ethanol-water mixture. It's still good, you just have to shake it before use, but it shows that the extract is powerful since the sugars are what make it medicinally active.

Reishi has medicinal compounds that aren't soluble in water but are in ethanol and vice versa. Every guide for making Reishi extracts recommends a double extraction with the water decoction coming post ethanol soak. If you have any actual research articles to the contrary, post them as I'd like to give them a read.

That looks just like a DIY swamp cooler, I really think it is the same thing. You could build you a swamp cooler cheap as fuck! it will drop temp and add humidity which should help that AC unit cool better, as If I remember right your in the SW states. Google swamp cooler.

It works!
With the coolant at 52F, 2.1 gpm of flow rate, and 450cmf of air movement through the exchanger it cooled the chamber from 76F to 62F in a little over an hour.
I will be using roughly 25% glycol not only to prevent freezing, but to keep the bacteria count down in the coolant.
