Do you think the spores are to blame or the procedure used to inoculate?

Hey Bod,
This is the second transfer from one of my Caerulescens clone attempt. Looks different than any of my other myc but seems to be healthy. What do you think?

Hey Bod, was hoping to get your thoughts on this clone culture. Mold or myc? Has a sweet smell and is organized.
This is a 3rd transfer from clone on 10/26:

Transfer from plate above taken on 10/28:
Thanks for your help!

I forget what species you said you were growing. Id say it looks on track, if it were mold it would eventually make conidia.

Trying to help a friend out and have searched for hours to try and find answer the only coir he could find locally is the eco earth 8.8qt bag of loose coir i have plenty of experience with bricks but never used the loose stuff in bags . Do u have any idea how many qts of water to reach field capacity ? Ok to use the bucket tek with this type of coir? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Here’s the link in Bod’s list for coir substrate with coir/water ratios. Approximately 5:1 H2O:Coir. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24077162#24077162

Heres a weird one Bod.
This is one of my initial clone plates that I forgot about for a while. Mold? I enlarged a portion that appears looks like mycelium coming together but not sure.

Hi Bod,
This is my 3rd attempt at a monotub so far, the previous two failed. this one looks like it might begin to fail soon as well.
The species is psilocybe cubensis.
I have looked at your TEKs numerous times and followed them to a T.
I started from a spore print onto agar, then did two agar to agar transfers and then inoculated oat spawn jars with agar wedges.
I have had no visible contamination in the jars and the agar plates were all 100% clean.
I have had success in the past with the PF TEK but the yield was extremely low for the same amount of work required for the monotub.
Here are some pictures of the monotub where it is at at the moment and a close up of the mold i removed today.

 Doesn’t look good!
You don’t have to put info in the subject line though. This thread already has a subject. Just ask your question.

Thanks for letting me know that.
Do you know if there's anything I can do to save it this early along or is it just gonna be another failure?
Any ideas where the contamination would be from, and why I'm not seeing any bad molds in my jars before moving onto the tub?
This is my agar plates (all Psylocibe Cubensis), the first two are from two zig zag style swabs of the same spore print. The third is my first agar to agar transfer from earlier in the year. The 4th and 5th images are 2nd and 3rd agar to agar transfers respectively. To me they all look clean, and the last two look nearly perfect, or is there something I may be missing here?

I’m going to start by saying I am a noob. I have some successful grows though. A TC or someone more knowledgeable can pipe up if I’m wrong.
The first plates I can barely see because it all just looks white and images don’t come up well for me. If they are old, I would move on from them anyway.
Your transfers on the last two look good to me. Nice and uniform. I would put those to grain but first, take a transfer or two from each to keep it going. I do oats as well. My biggest hurdle with oats is making them dry enough.
Another thing to absolutely make sure is that your jars are completely colonized before putting to spawn. The only time I ever had that beautiful brilliant green tub killer was when I wasn’t patient and spawned too soon. Each and every grain needs to be colonized. If some aren’t, wait longer or it might be you may have contam. Once you see trich/mould in your spawn, I don’t beleive picking it out is going to help. Dump and restart. This hobby is a major lesson in patience!
Check out Bods Link Library At the very bottom there are two links about contam, one from kizzle and one from timethyl. Great read with good pics.
Good luck!

But it goes by weight if you read Bods tek. He does use bricks but by weight.
Weigh your coir and multiply by 5. Eg if using a 650g brick x 5 = 3250ml or 3.25 litres.

Out of the 14 Jars of oats i inoculated with a syringe I only had 2 survive, would my best option be to G2G both of them to more jars of sterilized grains once they're done colonizing?

Hello there! This is my first post/reply, and my first shot at growing mushrooms. First of all i want to thank you for everything. This is what mushrooms are all about, unity, underlying unity in everything. Just wanted to ask did i get these steps right: 1) The making of grain spawn 2) Filling the jars 3) Sterilizing jars (although i have an old pressure cooker, witch doesn't have any type of trivet, so what should i put under the jars, rag or lids probably?) 4) Inoculation and incubation 5) Cultivation of Mushrooms
And 2 more questions. When my cakes are cultivated, should i just but them in growing box one by one, with space between them, or they should be merged together? And the second one. What should i do after my first flush to prepare for a second one?
Thanks a lot and pardon me if i didn't get some posting rules right. Arigato

I’m a bit confused. Are you doing PF tek with a spore syringe or are you innoculating oats or rye berries etc?
If you’re doing grains I would really start with agar, then agar to a grain master, g2g then to bulk using coir in a tub. Your choosing, I prefer unmodified.
If you are doing PF tek I would place the cakes fairly close together. I have had luck with the humidity chamber, you can search the thread by Meteah.
I always use a trivet so if you don’t have one maybe you could find a cooling rack or such to use. I would worry about stability using jar lids.

I watched the video on preparing the monotub (https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24161727#24161727 ) and am confused by the appearance of the spawn. It doesn't look fully colonized. Am I missing something? Or was that just for demonstration even though not complete?
