kinda yea. some people have used 99.97s and reported they work fine. but the 99.99% hepa filters are way more efficient at removing particulates than just the 0.03% difference suggests.

Would I be able to pre filter and equate difference do you think?

stacking filters doesn't make the sum of the filters better. it's like stacking chain link fences trying to stop mosquitoes. a prefilter will keep your main filter cleaner longer but it won't make it more efficient

whatever your filter face is in square feet times 100 feet per minute is your CFM. so for a 24x24 that's 2x2 feet so 4 square feet. times a flow rate of 100 feet per minute. you want 400 cubic feet per minute.
if your filter has a resistance of 1 inch w.g. at 400cfm flow then your blower needs to provide 400cfm at 1" w.g. (realistically add 20% or more)
if your filter has a resistance of 1.5 in.w.g. at 400cfm your blower needs to provide 400cfm at 1.5 in.w.g. bare minimum

Ok I reordered the PROPER filter. The same one you have I believe, a Flanders Nuclear Grade
Here are the specs

Will the 463 CFM do it?

Here's a quick clarification that I didn't feel the need to post a whole thread for: After getting a good agar plate or a few spore prints, you should never have to buy spores again right? You can just keep doing A2A an infinite amount of times?

Probably not infinity times but as soon as you grow one mushroom you've got enough spores to make 10-100 new syringes

You can shred cakes with a cheese grater right out of your kitchen drawer

Do you need to isolate with agar, or can you just drip some spores onto agar, cut a wedge out once it's colonized and throw it in with some oats?

Almost no one isolates. Most people use agar to ensure cleanliness of their cultures.

Okay, so am I right to assume that it's better to do A2A transfer until you get a 100% clean plate than to just cut a clean wedge out of a plate that has a contam in it and use it for grain. Thanks for all the help btw

1.) How long should I let a culture on agar incubate before transferring to spawn?
2.) I inoculated 6 jars of oats 9 days ago with a spore syringe. I can see that the oats are being used as a source of nutrition for something, but no mycelium at this point or mold. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
BB

Would you advise an A2A transfer on plates like this or should they be scrapped?

Here are some pics of a few jars. If you need more of a variety I’ll take some.
