Sounds perfectly normal. Habitat specific species will quite often appear for a while, then leave the scene to other species
until they perhaps return later in the season. I see this both in lawns and manure heaps.In my region with P. cinctulus
they seem to come around the end of May to early June, then after a few weeks they more or less disappear. They normally
return late August early September.

Mind you, it seems also quite typical that the fruiting starts at different times in different locations, likely due to difference
in conditions. The more you "shop around" for locations in different areas, the better your chances might be for finding
certain species.

Rule number 3 from: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/2263556

Do not ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or immediate area.

I'm not asking that in the slightest.  I'm asking about growth patterns in my area to know if I should bother looking for said species.  Sorry that it seemed, to you,  that I was breaking the rules. I'm just trying to feed my brain's insatiable appetite...

That rule is mostly to prevent people flooding the forum with posts like "can I find shrooms now" etc.
Healthy questions about fruiting patterns and other observations should, I think, be allowed and even encouraged.
