First Grow

Hello. I've been lurking here for a few weeks now and I have to say that the information is fantastic. I recently started my first grow using the PF tek, and its going well. This photo was taken today, 9 days after inoculation. There have been a few noob mistakes, but there is still no sign of contamination. Thank you to everyone who posts helpful information of cultivating, its been a big help.

Take the foil off thats pretty good growth for 9 days take a closer and more clear picture if you can it kinda looks whispy id like to peak and see if its myc and not something else

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is just letting them sit in the jar an extra week until pins start to form on the side of the glass?

Yes and no basically its allowing the center to get fully colonizrd you may get invitro pins you may not

It helps the myc build up an get strong to resist contams an colonize the inside.
Makes it nice an solid an digs in the myc.
I wouldnt let it go so far till it pins but sometimes u cant help that

Looking good! Remember to always remove the foil the moment it comes out of the pot otherwise it can throw off your moisture content, and in the future try to use widemouth jars rather than the tall jars. Also make sure the jars get plenty of light.

I've heard that they need dark, and I've heard they need light. Is there any definitive option while colonizing?

Looks good.

How hot is the room that these jars are in? The growth is accelerated which *may* breed infection. So be careful bout that.

Its summer here, and the room is on the second floor. Its a hair warmer than normal room temp, but nothing crazy

Here is the better of the two jars, 18 days after inoc. the other one has a bit more of the bottom to finish colonizing.

I birthed my cakes a few days ago, and one has a few small fruits starting to grow, but the other isn't fruiting. I didn't dunk them, and I think this may be the issue, but I'm not sure. Any advice?
