Left - have fun buddy if you drill a hole in the wrong place like I did when settingthe float height just plug the hole with silicone. Nbd That's probably the most important thing since there's a small window of liquid level where foggers operate 100%. It's not hard
Bry - so do u just mix wood Ash in water and check the pH or something to know when the mixture is right and then soak for 16hrs?
One day i got lost in reading about potassium and soil health and all that and I think the first place we ever identified and extracted potassium was from potash if I recall. And I'm pretty sure that's just wood Ash, and maybe even it doesn't matter what kind of wood

Hardwood ash is stronger than pine/softwood ash. I mix my water in buckets and pour it over the sub in the soak container. I started using ph strips but finally got a digital ph meter. I shoot for 11-12 but have gone as high as 14 on my soak water. If you mix your ash water the day before, the ash will settle and you can get cleaner water for the soak but I just dump it in. The ash will settle to the bottom of the container when you stir your sub around anyway.I
Another way to know is dipping your hand in the water. When you get the right ph zone, your skin will feel slick if you dip it in the water.

How much ash does it take a lot or a little?
Like will a pint jar of packed ash be enough to do a five gallon oyster bucket for example, easy known sizes?
I have a lot of smaller fires and im wondering how practical this can be to add in. Def try it once just to do it.

It varies due to differences in wood types. I don't measure how much, I add until the ph is right.

Is anyone familiar with these kind of pressure cookers? https://www.kookwinkel.nl/media/catalog/product/cache/image/700x560/e9c3970ab036de70892d86c6d221abfe/4/2/4875_42687_1.jpg
Never seen one with this kind of lid in person, but it seems like the only thing holding the lid down in the pressure from the screw in the middle of the lid. How do these work for sterilizing? Do these or other cheap ones still get to 15psi usually? These are sold under different brands here, and are pretty cheap compared to most others.

Probably twists to lock like a presto. I can't read any details it's all in Dutch.
I would guess it's lower pressure but there are cheap pressure cookers that easily hot 15psi

Doesn't look like it. Here's one just like it: https://link.marktplaats.nl/m1258268444
Looks like it's just a normal lid with a rubber gasket that is being pushed down by that single bolt in the middle. This one is 5liter, but they make them up to 30liters. You have similar looking pressure cookers with such a crossbar where an oval lid is placed inside the pc and it then pulled out to seal it, but this one isn't.

I didn't notice the crossbar and brackets. Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with that type of pc. I suspect it's a 10 psi cooker as all 15-20 psi pressure cookers I've seen have more clamps or brackets all the way around the lid. The information you need should be on the manufacturer's website.

Double posting these Piopinno and Shiitake pins because
I let the shiitake brown in the bag, smacked it around bit like a redheaded stepchild and put it in the refrigerator overnight. Took it out the next day, cut the bag off and tossed it in the martha. I checked them tonight and this is where its at

Getting there. This was my first bag soooooo mistakes were made. Primarily not stuffing it tight enough. I have pins all over in the little voids that I didn't get tight enough.

The fogger itself has a float...all I gotta do is check the water in my tote to make sure it's not low...thinking about adding some air stones in my tote to keep the water from getting stagnent

Just some "3/8 OD" vinyl tubing that has been slit with a dremel cutting tool and a piece of "1/4 OD" vinyl tubing tucked inside the 3/8 tube

The most time consuming part of making them was cutting 8.5 in pieces and straightening them out....but thats easy with a few long straight pieces of clotheshangers and boiling water
Edit: I got my ultrasonic pond fogger in today... And from what I can tell I'm gonna have to get a couple timers I can set for like 10-15min per hour to keep humidity where I need it
