Lions mane is pretty forgiving as far as temps go. Genetics vary quite a bit. Try a couple different ones and find out what works best for you. My 2 favorites are the lions mane from field and forest and Maine cap n stem's HE-POW strain

Thanks guys, good to know that LM tolerates warmer temps in general. Gonna play around a bit to see if they do ok enough for me to build a separate FC for them (in which the temps gonna be higher than in my oysters FC).

Where did you get your culture? Ive found black pearl to be a fragile strain. Proper storage and maintaining a young culture seems to be very important

Cool temps are also important. They perform best at 55 to 62 degrees F

my other blocks fruits look similar to yours..I don't know what happened to the block that produced the white fruits, maybe I'll clone it to see what happens... maybe I fucked up somewhere, they came from the same master jar🤷

My dad is sir. Call me Euey.
I had a blue oyster block with bacteria caused some of them to stay small and turn brown. That’s the extent of my experience with discoloration. But my black pearl king oysters weren’t shaped like that so it could be an oyster or a revert? Idk man

took a few tissue samples from that fruit, I like the way they looked, hoping I can reproduce similar looking fruits later on down the line... it's getting too warm to try to fruit BPK here, soon it'll be in the 70-80's consistantly

More than likely that mutation was due to conditions or contamination. That's probably a monoculture and I doubt cloning will give you that same result

never hurts to try though right? worst thing that can happen is it don't produce shit🤷

I need to start writing shit down, I'm pretty sure I went back to spores at some point with BPK... and I don't know if the wedge I used came from the culture from MCS or it's MS or not🤦... good thing I got a new black oyster culture from MCS like 2wks ago...

EDIT: I believe I used a multispore plate to inoculate (about 80% sure on that), definitely need to start taking notes though
