So I just got wheat bran today for my LM substrate, the sawdust should come next week.
When I was getting the wheat bran I noticed also Oat bran, which was actually quite cheeper. Would that work as well as wheat bran?

Hi everyone! I posted a while back about some Pink Oyster LC I ordered that got frozen during delivery. Just following up to report that it has somehow survived! I felt it was really cool, and I wanted to share! I think I just got lucky, but im still shocked! Thank you all!

straight to grain! I haven't played around with agar yet, but the jars I inoculated have been growing fast! I understand using agar with spores, but with LC whats the benefit of agar?

a LC can be contaminated, agar is a tool we use to check to see if there are contaminates present... and agar is good for cleaning up cultures be it LC or spore print/syringe

I havent heard about cleaning up cultures before, so consider me intrigued! Regarding contamination, I can understand that using a plate will show if there is contamination, I will look into trying Agar out!

Usually have that strain in the colonization room for 10 or 11 days @68 degrees and harvesting 8 or 9 days from the day I cut the bag @60 degrees
Not exactly sure how many days til pins. I don't pay attention

Awesome info. Thank you, Strom. Mine are taking about two weeks so I’ll tinker with some variables and see if I can get them going a bit quicker.
