Does that sound like an okay plan or are there better ways?
Sounds like a reasonable plan. Maybe paint it with a waterproofing membrane (the stuff they put under the floor tiles in showers). You can apply it with a paintbrush. It won't let any moisture through.

Yikes, didn’t realize I was posting in the middle of a feud
Thanks Aye, I’ll take a look at some sealants today. I just need it for around the bottom of the frame. I’m definitely going to have to level it again at some point but that might have to wait until the next iteration of the tent.
Right on Capt. I’ll take a look at those as well. Thank y’all both for the suggestions. Be nice to not have any leaks.

First 4 have trich and bacc present. The gill sample is completely taken over by trich. 5th has cobweb present. 6/7 relatively proper, 8910 we're transfered to nute agar then transfered back to water to be used as LC inoculant.

And stressed from lack of food or being 2 months old, ya.

So I have problems finding hardwood pellets here around where I live. My question is, can I just use normal hardwood sawdust instead for LM/Reishi ?

You bet. Check furniture and cabinet makers….they’ll give you their dust for free.

72 hours and the 2 year old exidia recisa (amber jelly) culture has awaken. Fingers still crossed for the Apioperdon pyriforme (pear-shaped puffball/woodloving). ( yes i know how ugly that plate is)
 This was the original fruit.

So it seems I could save some LM mycelium from that baggy ^^

Edit: think going to let it go a couple of days before transferring to a new clean plate.

Nice! Happy you got it to go. Here is a picture of the transfer I took on the day I sent it.
 Sorry for the troubles.
Yes, bw86, I know that I am a horrible human being for not knowing how to send a live culture international.

I would actually like to see a tek on that. Sending live cultures, I mean. Seems like a petri dish would be a customs issue and really expensive to boot. Even with non-machinable stamp and international postage, what kind of container do you ship agar in that fits in a envelope?

All good my friend! I know you sent it on your expenses and you were just very generous and kind reaching out to me about it! I am glad I could save it and it also looks quite clean until now! So hopefully I don't have to clean it up any further
Thanks again! ¨<3

This baggy method actually sounds very decent to me. That is, if the baggy is undamaged. Same could be done with foil, in the same way we send spore prints. And I'll bet my ass it works with dried mycelium as well so you won't make a mess.

I use low profile 20 ml dishes. They fit inside a bubble envelope that can just fit through the rollers of a regular mailbox. I use These 1 0z international stamps ( government link). I have only had 1 crack and it was still viable.
sorry to call you out. I appreciate that you sent a member a free culture. Didn't mean to sound like a dick. Its just I have received that exact thing in trade where I sent a pristine dish and was reflecting on that memory.

We are good. I respect that and appreciate the advice. I will be on the look out for those 20ml plates now.
I hate sending swabs for the same reason, but I bet the bubble envelopes will help with those as well.

In general I am huge fan of smaller plates. I get more than twice as many pours a liter Vs. people using 50 ml dishes.

The baggie method works great with a non machinable stamp, if going international you can just add both.
It also stops your swabs from getting broken..
