Does ganoderma belong here? My buddy found a ganoderma sessile fruiting in his yard and I seem to have a clone of it colonizing rye berries right now. I'm new to cultivating reishi so I'm pretty excited. Not sure if I should post about it here or if I should do a detailed grow log. I have TMC, GGMM, and MR that I am pulling ideas from that I could use to build some sort of noob friendly ganoderma tek if I have success with this clone. Just not sure how far I want to go w it.
EDIT: just wasn't sure if this is a strictly gourmet thread or if reishi is appropriate here

I think you guys want to look up Phellinus Ellipsoideus.
Also, you can dry birch polypore into a leather like material. It resembles pig skin ears. Cut it into thin slices before drying. I wouldn't know if you could process it into anything. Maybe a cup would work if you made it into shape and held it in place during the drying.

I've been misting a bit here and there. I'll post updated pics soon
Antlers are growing taller than the lid on the tub they're in. I need to get a martha setup but until then is it alright to trim them back a little or do they need to be harvested all in one shot?

In lime water (CaCO3), but apparently you will be better off with wood ash water.

I just shook my ganoderma jar yesterday. Visible recovery was a little over 24 hrs later.

Steevo, dont prune them the white is the growing tip. Just let them get tall or make them lean towards the light.

Is it time to put these into fruiting conditions now or what? I spawned them 19 days ago which seems to be around the time frame for fruiting conditions.

These are at day 58 and have pretty much all reached the tops of the bags. I might cut a couple tops open and throw in the greenhouse to conk. I just weighed a random bag and it’s down to 2# 1 oz from 3.5# at spawning.

Well when can I tell to put it into fruiting conditions? I posted it at this point and people said it's not there yet.

Also what should I do with that little fruit? It's going to be smushed when I fold the bag over. It's like silver dollar width.

The problem with Hericium species is finding the right time to fruit because it can't really be told from the mycelium's looks as it's too damn whispy. But now that you've got your first bag colonized, and seen that fruiting has begun at day 19, I'd say next time stick with the same ratio and slit the bag at 15 days. With Hericium Erinaceus it's 20 days. I have the Abietes here, but haven't transferred it to grains yet. It fruits very fast on agar as well.
