I opened 1 of my reishi bags once the antlers got about 3 inches. Had them in 95rh and they stopped growing? What did I do wrong I really want con s. Love they way they look haha. I have 4 bags with 1 inch antlers (bag still closed) what should I do to get antlers? Just cut a small small hole once the antlers are longer?

I've had a senescent Reishi culture before, and it would refuse to form conks no matter what I did. Maybe it was the senescence, maybe something else. If it formed at least 1 conk, I could have started fresh from spores.

I have an oyster jar that is fully colonized. Looked great throughout colonization. But now, it's got a tiny pea sized patch of green, and some of the exposed wbs seeds on top of the jar have small black hypha lookin fellas. Is there a chance the oyster myc metabolize these losers, spores and all (therefore allowing me to spawn to bulk with the wbs, or even do g2g)? I've got in the fridge right now, might upload some pics later.

Ha...post up pics. Honestly, if you have green and black in there you’re much better off tossing and starting some new spawn. Not to say you won’t get some fruit but if you already have sporulating contams it’s only gonna get worse.

I was gonna, but after I took the pics I realized it was silly and I already knew what the answer was gonna be. I also don't even know what directory they are saved in so
I have so many sterilized grain jars waiting for transfers now that that one is contaminated. Oh well, just gotta wait.. as always
Also, is there anyone selling cultures here? I'm tenatively looking for oysters of all kinds and a shiitake culture that does well indoors. Why tf does Aloha Medicinals charge $225 for a culture, holy cow

Just order some spawn from field and forest and generate cultures from that.

Test reishi run went better than I expected. Grow room needs serious cleaning, but went ahead and inoculated 50 bags. Other rooms are getting ready to be filled.
Out of 50 bags 2 went green, rest is doing fine. Prepping next batch of LC and there is still shitload of work on facility.
Overall, quite happy.

I have a bunch of ~3 gallon sized bags form U-Line, kind of like those big 2-3 gallon ziploc bags but without the 'ziploc' part. I was planning on just stuffing pasturized straw into these and loosely tying them shut to allow for GE.. Then, when fully colonized, just cutting the tops off to allow for FAE and fruits on the top. On some I might just cut out some holes and see how that does as a comparison. Will something like this work ok? On the surface, it sounds similar enough to those microfilter bags everyone complains about. I don't want to throw down $80 on a polytubing roll just yet.

you can fruit bags like straw logs. They dry out quicker than a large log.

Anyone know if this looks right?

I think its pulmonarius and I took a clone from these bois:

Which was id'd in the hunting forum as Pulmonarius. Tbh the mycelium is weird af I haven't had any oyster myc (or any myc) like this so far, though I've not been doing edibles that long. It's like candyfloss, grows really fast and fills the dish. Trying to get transfers is a bit of a pita, it seems really sticky

That plate is overgrown. If you put it on a fresh one and take a pic once it grows out a bit, we will be of much more help. Looks strange to me tho.

Yeah but its difficult to describe. It's not unpleasant (bacteria), kinda fresh, not mushroomy though. I cant remember what the fruits smelt like that I got the clone tissue from, but I can imagine if I broke open one of them, it smelling like this.
I've taken a transfer this morning I'll post a pic in a couple of days.

My pulmonarius have a very pleasant Anise smell, at least on grain. You can transfer to a small grain jar and do a small-scale fruiting test.
