@Puduwoke, are you able to roll up the door, or leave it open (wedged), and get good humidity? @Quadman, will the LM be ok if there is a sudden increase to air flow?
Note, a low O2 environment can encourage anaerobes.

Sure lions mane and oysters are compatible. Just the fresh air vs lowering humidity issues that all greenhouses have.

Awesome guys! I will see how the next batch comes out. If they look the same I will raise the fae and try different things.
Oh and what do you guys say? Is it "ok" to have a constant RH in the GH? Hope you understand why, so many things pinning that I do not want to lower the RH to say 89-92.
@Fera Yes I can unzip the door. I also have a speed cobtrolled fan blowing air out of the GH so I can speed that up for more fae. (Its running 24/7)
Thanks a lot guys!

If you have other items-containers you can use to make a temp fruiting chamber, you could take out the oysters, and try them separately. You should be able to go down to around 80-85% RH as the minimum, and not see any change in production.
A humidified intake usually solves this issue, increasing FAE without RH loss.

Exhaust to outside (outdoors).

You mean pinning and fruiting at 80-85RH or after pinning?
Would be so easy for me to get TONS of more FAE if I could keep the GH at a constant 85-90RH for me.

Sorry of this is way of topic, thought you guys might still enjoy this post If not I'm sorry.
Went on a mushroom walk today even tho it's not really time yet. Ohh am I happy I did. So I have found 1 Chaga before, it's right next to my work. But I didn't harvest it. Wanted to leave it because it makes me happy to look at when Im at work. Also to have there so Im reminded of what they look like.
So today when I saw this mushroom I got super happy, number 2 in the books!

It's 6 meter up in the tree tho. So I could not harvest it this time. Happy and sad (because I could not harvest it) I took my bike and started going home. After I marked on my map it was located.
5 minutes on my bike later I see this!

2 chagas in the same day! Im so happy!
Couldn't wait so I took a hammer and went to town inside of a old SAB. Then in a food processes and 2 hours later I ended up with 3 full quarts of chaga powder!

---------------------------------------------------------
Now going to have to make my first tincture. I can not find 50% alcohol in my country, does it matter a lot if I do it with 37.5% alcohol instead?

Chaga, reishi, lions mane, turkey tails
Puduwok, I believe people harvest chaga and leave a portion on the tree to keep it active? I may be wrong as it does not grow here. So i have no hands on knowledge.

Good for you Pudu!

I believe you're right Quadman, I've heard the same.

Not sure if you saw my post in the other thread but I also beleive you are supposed to wait until after the first frost. I’ve never harvested but I people do around here and I may have the details wrong but google it.

Ok. I will look into it. But, in a lot of the cases it would be almost impossible for me to Find some of the chagas again after first frost?

Ok. Like I said, I haven’t harvested myself so I’m not positive. I’m not sure where you are, do you not get frost?

I have heard that the best time is not necessarily when there is a frost, but when the tree goes dormant in the fall. The sap stops flowing and the 'good stuff' concentrates in the chaga.
But I have not read any actual literature confirming this. And some I've talked to don't believe that is the case.

Well I transfered a big ass chunk on this 2 year old dry ass reishi plate to a new plate is there any chance for revival and did the original even look ok?
Just realized this is more of a medicinal than a gourmet i can be a knucklehead lol but i hope i can still get an answer without getting beat too hard over the head.

Lol awesome, I love winter and feel sorry for the people that have no real seasons in the year.
I decided to start putting my oysters out in the greenhouse. It is so big I knew I couldn’t maintain a high humidity. I did learn something about the importance of fae and sunlight! I was worried it would get too hot, I do have an industrial exhaust fan set to go off at 26c, our nights have been getting down to 12-15c though. With only 40-60rh most times, except in the morning with the dew, I’m pretty darn happy with the results. First time doing straw logs too, can’t wait to see them fruit.

-30 is better than +30 IMHO 😉
I’ve noticed that these fruit are far more gold colour than grown indoors, pretty neat seeing the difference.
Going to try a little grow tent with morning sun and afternoon shade for shiitakes. They are outgrowing my little GH in the shop.
What does everyone use for a fruit block recipe for shiitakes? I’ve been using the basic hwfp supplemented with bran.
