Btw I only got 10 small bags if anyone has a ton of them handy and would like to hook me up, I could trade for them possibly it would be appreciated

Hi guys. Nice thread ya got here, Myco.
Question. What is the best percentage/proof of alcohol to use for making the double extraction reishi tincture in your opinions?

50% or 100 proof is the minimum I shot for . If I go half alcohol and half water extract at the end I've got 25% alcohol double extract.
That said,to be economical gone to buying a fifth of ever clear and big jug of cheap 80 proof vodka. Mixing the two makes about 65% alcohol.

Thanks Quadman!! Is anything too strong? I mean, at what point is alcohol too strong to where it begins to break down medicinal properties.

Your just wasting money if alcohol is to high.i think 25% is about where the finished product needs to be. That amount insures it is preserved.

Got a light over these bad boys. Looking great! Unfortunately, I had to move the nebrodensis outside as I believe my fruiting chamber is too warm at 72F. Hopefully they’ll do something.

Is that a plant grow light? You could probably take all but one bulb out and save some electricity.

Hardly. It’s an old office light drawing 89 watts. BUT, I was planning on putting some stars under it...

morning guys have a quick question before I give it a try. I currently sterilize all of my hwfp bags in a 55 gallon electric sterilizer. Question I have is does anyone know if or has tried to sterilize wbs or rye berries in one? kinda sick of doing a bag or two of it in the pressure cooker for 2 hours. would love to load up a bunch of bags and let it go for 24 hours like I do my substrate. any thoughts on why this would or not work? thanks pic of the sterilizer

I have thought about trying it. Take one for the team and give it a go! I would make sure to put the bags at the bottom.

Thanks for the info, also good to know they get more taste with more FAE! Will make the ventilation more frequent.. what I have now is an air inlet fan fitted with a HEPA filter (not that high of a grade but still), I could also connect the exhaust I have, which has some polyfill filtering and a tube with two small fans in it - probably better overall airflow that way.
I just don't have the setting of the humidifier pat down to afford that sort of ventilation - if I crank it up there will be a lot of condensation when the air is saturated. Do you have yours on a timer also that is delayed compared to the ventilation but at same interval??
Also, quick question: is Ganoderma Sessile medicinally interesting / useful? I guess I don't have much need for it cause I have Mycolorado's reishi too.. but am curious.. Prepping the reishi on agar, it's coming after P nebrodensis. But first I am expecting pioppino to start fruiting and AA+ also.
Don't really know how to get the Pioppino to pin, it's already close to the FAE inlet (one tray especially), though I should probably upgrade my lighting to something that penetrates better (like cfl from the back).
