two questions
    #2441304 - 03/16/04 11:40 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

1) concerning light exposure of ~10 fruiting cakes:
the mushies require a very small amount of indirect light--but what about the length of exposure? can shrooms fruit well, for example, in a dark closet (with only about 20 min exposure/day)?

and...
we all know how to speed up jar growth w/ the heat and such... however, how SLOW do you think is possible before it starts to pin inside the jar? and what, exactly, would happen if you didn't birth after pinning? be too dry?

Mushi should just follow the source of the light for their
growth, so 20 minutes for fruiting should be good :thumbup:
For induce pinning, I would enlight the terrarium for some
hours, I used to left on the bulb for 7/8 hrs.

If you won't birth a cake after you've seen hyphal inside,
I guess that:
1) you could find after a couple of week the jar full of
fruited body;
2) the amount of water will decrease a lot.

Maybe you could store a cake with pinning in the fridge, but
I donno with what results. I read like yesterday that a guy
put a cake in the fridge for 3 days and when he came back
there were some knots comin' out of it...

Good luck. :wink:
