So like it says I am in Illinois. Along some train tracks these grow wild, many of them. I dug 4 of them last year and transplanted to my yard. It appears there are 2-3 phenotypes exhibited. I had notice 2 different ones in the wild and possibly noticing 3 in my yard. So there is this short one, kind of mounded, 2 others are very close to this just even more droopy mound like. Those 3 flowered well last year.

Then then there is this single one that was almost tripled in height since last year. It's about 5 foot tall, and flowering while the others are not yet. We had a mild winter and they all stayed green throughout it. This thing just blows my mind. Nothing by the tracks has ben this big, guess its better conditions here. I don't know species, I just know I am really enjoying this one and like them all.

There is this one as well as the one with the white "bells" that everyone likes to grow in their yard. I think those just went wild though. Not sure if either of these are native to illinois

I tried transplanting two different Yucca plants to different spots in my yard last year with no success. Different variety than what you have pictured. Cool specimens though.
I transplanted a patch of double Daylilies that have been doing great and are about to flower, at the same time I attempted the Yuccas. Wonder what gives

Possibly the soil. Yuccas tend to be hard plans that I find in shity soil with rocks and clay. I love this couple mile stretch of train tracks. Found these, orange daylilies, a peony, as well as a couple different Iris. Some seems wild while some seems to have been dumped by people. Found tulips once but they didn't survive.
