Found this, anyone know what it is?

I live in san francisco bay area, and last december I was walking around the uc berkeley campus on a sunday morning, it was drizzling, I was on mescaline, and I stumbled across some very interesting mushrooms. I got a picture of a closed and open one.

Does anyone have any idea what these are?

given that you are in sanfransisco, and the picture.. it could be "hygrocybe flavescens" but.. you really need to provide a spore print and the other main details listed in the sticky topic which is the first topic in this forum.. the mushroom i said is just a guess.. given the information its hard to tell, but it does look like some sort of waxy cap.

As a wild guess, I'd probably try Bolbitius vitellinus. If so, it should have a rusty colored spore print.

Happy mushrooming!
