Ive slapped together the basic layout and ground work for the obstacle course app. Now to add obstacles and I was thinking a timer that starts when you go down one set of stairs and stops when you reach the other, giving you a time related score.

@PartoftheSource Ive been looking in to augmented reality a bit, got some cool ideas floating around however as I understand it the problem is accessing the phones camera from within an oculus app. There are a few solutions but so far the camera quality almost isn't worth the effort.
One idea i had is to mount a camera on a pole coming off a backpack behind you and stream it to the vr headset so you can walk around in real life third person, it would be trippy as fuck

youll have to add checks for each individual portion of the course else someone could run directly to the start. also i didnt read any part of the thread just the title and your post so if its designed differently, my bad.
also you could do nifty scores for each individual portion of the course or something.

You are correct. I was thinking an easy solution could be when the player goes down a set of stairs (see pics in my last post) the timer starts and that staircase becomes impassable, so the only way they can go is through the course.

Have you seen the Rick and Morty episode about the car battery? I want to build a miniverse then fly into it in a spaceship with a slow ramp so I can flip off all the people
You can come too.

Sounds amazing.
So the Universe could be some kind of energy generator for a UFO? Whoa

They got porn for this thing yet? Just wondering it's only a matter of time if not. Hell if they make full sensory suits it may phase out sex all together. Eventually I bet they make shit for serial rapists and the like to get their jollies off on that instead of actually doing it. That's a pretty messed up idea and I even really like thinking about it but hell it might stop people from getting hurt one day. I'm not really suggesting you make these things just kinda talking.
How about a game where you control a guy playing another video game? Maybe he's playing a game where he controls a guy who controls a guy watching porn?
I think coming up with an idea that plays better on a headset then on a screen would be tough. a lot of those simpler games like that seem like there already out there. Maybe a golf game where you can swing an actual club? That would be cool but seems complicated. Seems like there would be a lot of trial and error on these types of games. Some ideas seem cool but when you play it it just lacks something. I'm anxious to see where this technology will be in 10 years.

Yeah vr porn is a bit underwhelming, the novelty wears off quickly.
A golf game would be cool, however it would need a motion sensor controller like the wii but so far the only choices are the touchpad on the side of the headset or a GearVR handheld controller (sold separately). Or, if you're like me, you can connect a ps3/ps4 controller to your phone through bluetooth (requires root) and use that
I read somewhere that the military is utilizing VR for training scenarios using real world locations/environment/building layouts before going in for the real thing.
Heres a few ideas i have floating around:
Plane crash simulator Virtual cruise ship holiday Surgery game Out of body experience simulator DMT trip simulator Island survival (like castaway)

The plane crash simulater and the island survival are the ones the stand out to me personally. Those might be something I can get into.
I think a smaller rpg would be cool maybe you have to save someone from a haunted house or something that's kind of spooky but also gives you choices to make your own adventure. I was never big into linear games. I also like the idea of just wondering around a city or even building one. I haven't really played enough to get a good feel of what would be good or not just got ideas that would get me interested and actually want to sit and play. I always preferred rpg games to anything else. I realize that would probably be a lot more complicated to make but like a final fantasy or Zelda world would be awesome to me to explore. Man just thinking about how to go about setting something like that up is complicated enough but a game of sorts would really grab my attention.
