Definitely.

Although if i dont have a grill on top, the veggies sometimes drop into the fire, which sucks : /

Yeah those grilling things you see in the camping section at the store that shows like a fish clamped in it are handy for that. Throw whatever ya want in it and it clamps shut like a clam shell and holds it.

They aren't made real well but with a little tinkering they're really handy.

Hot dogs. Nothing like putting a dog on a stick and burning your hands over the camp fire.

Half sockeye salmon fresh on a fire of black spruce boughs. Light salt heavy black pepper. Always tastes better on the banks of the Klutina River or at Chitina.

Banana, nuts, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips. Wrap inside aluminum foil. Toss on top of coals.  :brainscream:

I think someone referred to it as a "banana boat" last time I made one. I'm sure there's a common throw around name, I did not come up with the concoction.

I'm usually pretty lazy on the food front and just bring a bunch of MRE's.  But going forward, I'm going to start cooking actual meals.  Lost of good tips in this thread.

Has anyone ever tried roasted starbursts over a fireplace as opposed to marshmallows?  Sooooooo goooooood.
