Really? So same fruiting temps as cubes, huh? I'm not familiar with this variety and just based off looks, I would assume they're cooler temp wood lovers. How would you rate the potency? Closer to cubes, closer to cyans?
Beautiful work, btw. Both the grow and the pics. I tip my hat to you, madam.

absolutely beautiful !!!
+5 sara, good god what beautiful pics!!
i have these on grain right now looking great, about to spawn them probably next week. any advice you could give on cultivating them is much appreciated!!
what did you use for your sub and casing, and how did you prepare it (i know you said straw and compost, but what type of compost, any info would be great)? also, what type of fruiting chamber/environment did you give them?
i was planning on testing them on a bunch of different stuff, but as well as yours turned out id rather just use your technique

It's not a variety it's a species and it's closer to Ps. cubensis than Ps. cyanescens.

Thanks yep these have a wide range of parameters. I fruited them in the 80s before as well as 60s this time around and both were fine. They are very strong though IME. I don't eat them anymore, but from a long time ago I say as strong as Psilocybe semilanceata. So err on the side caution.

Hey c10 always love your energy!
My compost is just the basic, nothing fancy, green waste etc. normal garden stuff. You can use horse manure too, with the straw pellets, just fluff it up with CVG to get the right consistency. I have fruited them like that before and they did fine.
For warm species, I like growing them outside in my garden. Simple, no timers, no lights, lots of fresh air. I use an old style FC by TVCasualty called Wet Towel Tek. It's just a clear tub with a wet towel that I put in the shade. Works wonders in my dry desert climate. But I'm sure any proper FC or martha will work no problem.

sara if they are still printing light you could try keeping the caps moist.
this can be achieved quite simply by dropping a drip of water, using a thin needle and syringe, on to the top of caps as they dehydrate and then also extend the printing time a little.
this should encourage/excite the basidia to drop spores for a longer period of time.
if they really stubborn the also cover with a small glass to keep them in a humid enviroment.
