I pull the five slave jars out of the pc and line them up like you see them. I remove the foil and set it aside. Without touching the jars or reaching over them, I spray iso all around the bands in a couple fluid motions and set an iso soaked paper towel over the top. Fuck off for 15 minutes.
Thats just how daddy likes to do things.....
I like it. I especially like the fuck off for 15 minute parts. When I first got started, I never got to the still air part by leaving shit be for a while.

First of all I pc with very loose lids. Fuck the struggle (been there done that).
When removing the lid (some are upside down because I made them like that before I discovered using loose lids lol) I press the lid down with my index finger and use my other fingers of the same hand to twist off the band. Once the threads are loose I move the band straight up until I can grab the lid with my index and thumb (of the same hand). Lift it up and do the dirty. Drop the band down and tighten the lid.
Pretty simple.....just takes practice.

Same. That being said, I never use iso for anything other then wiping my gloves and arms down. Sometimes I'll wipe down the lids, but haven't in the longest time. Place everything on box cover, spray down box, remove tinfoil, place box on lid with everything needed inside. Wait 15 mins, give it another quick spray and go to work.

Nice, you guys! I made a 105 quart monotub with horse manure, coir, vermiculite, gypsum with that 5 quart bag of oats, and the jars each got spawned to their own shoebox of horse manure/verm/gypsum last night.

Can I get away with g2g a jar that's like 90% colonized? My Lucy is near full colonization and well I got 10 jars of oats chilling in the sab. Was considering using the Lucy as a master for 5 jars, doing only 5 it should colonize fast as fuck right?

Ill use them for some other ventures tonight. I just happened to have them in there and had considered it, but honestly it is just me being inpatient.

I still dont understand why everyone insists on spraying dirty tap water all over freshly sterilized media....
One day.....coir wont need to be pasteurized.

I don't spray anything on my freshly sterilized media? 'Dirty' water or iso. Just don't see the point honestly. To each their own tho man!

Got a few transfers going on agar, liquid culture, and went ahead and gave a few 1/2 pints a shot with multispore which are looking decent so far, so hopefully I'll be doing a taste test after a few weeks...mmm can't wait to lick that Lucy

SO here are 4 pic of my Lucy jar. I want your guys opinions, are these moisture spots just moisture, or do they look like bacteria blobs. They are so clear I have assumed water in the past. Well that could be biting me in the ass. I circled in red things that don't look like the rest so to speak. Please give me your feedback. I need to know how clean this really is.

Third pic middle circle is bacteria Imo. Others are probably just condensation. See how it's still white under the water drop but the middle circle isn't colonized and it's just a grain.

Yea I see what you are saying. Sadly this is probably the best jar I have produced, lol. My Costa Rica is just slow as fuck and a weak culture, slowly moving away from it, and GLAD to.
