Transparent mycelial growth on agar dishes?

Hey guys hope youre doin well! Ive been experimenting with agar a bit and I attempted to clone some specimens from my last grow. I needed to isolate a second time after my first time transferring the clones to agar because those dishes got contaminated. I fixed where I was making mistakes and transferred the most aggressive sectors to new dishes to isolate from the contamination. I wound up never getting any contamination on the dishes I transferred to, the only thing is that the mycelium didn't grow back thick at all. It grew back all the way to the edge of the dishes, but its transparent, you can see what it looks like in front of a light source. Does this mean old mycelium or something else? I know that its not recommended to transfer from clones since its already an isolated strain. If you guys think it might be something else though, that information would be helpful. Thanks!

pics?
most clones are not isolates and you can take transfers from clones.

Yeah, here are two. Hard to see in the pics, but it actually does grow to the edges of the dish.

I should also add, that the clone I attempted to clone came from the third flush. So might be old genetics? Or maybe the electrical tape stopped air exchange? I've since been using perafilm on my new dishes.

those look like mold from here. what kind of agar media did you use
and yea don't use tape to wrap dishes, good luck unwrapping them without fumbling around

clear growth like this tightens up, if it's just the leading edge like that it's fine but your plates don't look like cubensis mycelium to me.

Yeah, its a luria medium. Also, its cubensis. I know the problem isn't the medium because the first clone samples grew out really well, and thick. Also, it's def not mold. I saw mold in my other dishes, I can see how the picture makes it look like it though.

luria medium(often used but incorrect) is actually known as Lysogeny medium it's a very terrible media to try to grow cubes on. it has salt in it. You'll get horrible performance from cubensis.
you can also grow a lot pathogens easily on LB so I wouldn't be using it at all.

I see, thanks for the info. I'll see how my most recent ones go. Why do you think the first round of dishes went so well? (minus contamination)

Before you see a dime's worth of growth, filamentous mycelium will already be well on its way as far out as it possibly can. You can transfer from these filaments for faster colonizers. I'm sure in the photograph provided that strands of mycelium not visible to the eye or camera are already there. Check it out with a pocket microscope if you have one they're like 10 bucks.
