The fear of your country being colonized and conquered is perfectly rational given the history of the world and Islamic conquest.

People who are in fear of a terror attack and are quick to give up their rights are being played.

The people who realize that the threat of "terrorists" is overstated yet ignore historic conquests on western civilization by Islam and the way the world works so they try to shut down peoples concerns are being played in a reverse psychology manner.

It is much more likely that muslims will colonize an area, reproduce, then take over and change the society naturally.  It's already happening.

The irony is that people who are typically oppressed under Islam are standing up for Islam due to a perceived unity in being socially criticized in the West.  There are videos of topless girls walking around standing up for "muslims," and if they were to walk around topless in muslim countries they would be raped and killed.

The ignorance is astounding and that is where my fear comes from.

Great post!

It's certainly true that, if you look at the historical impact of Islam, letting a single Muslim into your country suggests a deathwish, let alone tens of millions.

Unfortunately anyone who points out this basic historical fact is met with "RRRRRAAAAAAACCCCCCCCIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTT!!!!!"

You are right that this is going to lead to a backlash. This is the start of it.

+1 both great posts

I think the topic must be discussed and the issue approached precisely without the race baiting and victimhood tangents. Now, that Trump is making America great again, we've seen that crying and temper tantrums are not about to provide free money.

The alarming factor isn't just the ideology that has no place in the West, it is that even those who do not act out in manners of terrorism are willingly in support. Muslims do not report to the FBI potential terror attacks or risks sources suggest.

Documented again are Muslims celebrating 9/11 as the towers went down. That is fucked up.

I live in a city (USA) with a heavy influx of muslim refugees theres women in hijabs walking by my house everyday, and a few mosques in my neighborhood. Sometimes ill even see burkas, which is a jarring sight to see in real life. A few years ago I went into a muslim house for work and they had a shrine of Osama Bin Laden. Recently someone was arrested for sending funds to ISIS.

But theres no rapes, street violence, honor killings or raping of infidels... at least not that I'm aware of. I rub elbows with these people at the grocery store and stuff and most of them seem like good people, but im sure there are a few bad apples as with any population.

Their presence doesnt threaten me, at least not yet. Theres a lot of problems with violence in this city, but its not coming from them, its coming from another american born demographic.

Everyday MSN has a dozen news stories with a "Join the Conversation" link at the bottom to discuss the story. After the latest spate of attacks in London, they disallowed any comments as they can stomach bombing and murder, but not hate-filled speech - even if it is justified. Poor Muslims, ever the scapegoats.

Ever read the Koran? It was not written by the US or UK governments. There are multiple passages specifically calling for the conversion or death of infidels. Moderates read and follow the same book as the extremists.

ive read it... theres also passages saying to peacefully live amongst christians and jews. They all have their personal motives and can justify them by cherrypicking from holy texts. Moderates and extremists are equally justified. The root of the problem is people being able to point to religious dogma as a valid justification for their actions.

At this point in time. Its not.

But any of the Abrahamic religions would be equally justified committing these atrocities. The Bible and Torah arent shy about killing non-beleivers. And in the past, it was certainly done. Ever hear of the inquisition? You think the Catholic Church became what it is today by loving thy neighbor?

Why it's not equally spread among religions? I dont know. Maybe because the instability in the Middle East provides a good opportunity for a power grab. And religion is the perfect justification and recruitment tool. If the US goverment was toppled and the country was left in chaos, I wouldnt be surprised at all if there were right wing Christian groups trying to take over power by violence. In the name of God, of course

Fair enough. Now explain why Muslims born in the US or the UK, not having their lives or resources threatened, turn on their fellow countrymen.

why did these red blooded Americans turn on their country men? mental illness? too easy, perhaps they are trying to make a point, or a statement, perhaps they felt mistreated, whatever it is im not sure why people kill others.

america has a bigger domestic terrorist threat then they do foreign terrorist.

For the most part they dont. But in the rare case that they do, its in a spectacular fashion.

I live in a city of 60,000 people and I would say 15-20 thousand of that is Muslim, mostly refugees. Women in Burkas walk down my street. I think some aspects of the way they live is not conducive to American values, but there are no terrorist attacks or Islam related violence here. Im more scared of my black neighbors than I am my Muslim neighbors.
