Shomann said: Hahaha, I got a terrible eye infection. I thought it was allergies (as it was the season) though I'd never suffered from them before, but I was in a new state.
Long story short, I had a 60 year old man screaming at me in a office chair about how I was too young to not be taking care of myself and that he never thought he'd see a case so bad in someone so young.
He found 3 kinds of mold spores we find in cultivation, and my eyes had a terrible reaction to it. Thats me though, I'm not saying this will happen to everyone, but it happened to me.
I couldn't open them for over a month, and for a year after I could open them, I could feel the damage that had been done every morning when I opened them for the first time that day.
And I'm clean man, just like the rest of us here who clean our whole damn house because of this hobby.
Shit happens.
Holy shit bro, that's fucked up, lets hope that doesn't happen to anyone else, never thought mold spores can infect the eye, like i've only heard a story of this man who lost his eye due to contact lenses that contained some type of parasitic organism, i bet he's a billionaire by now after suing that lens company.
We better wear those fucking tight ass swimming goggles when we're trashing moldy spawn after that story.
Hope your eyes are better by now man.

Here's the green spawn (don't judge me)

no judgement dude it's easy to underestimate the invisible yet immense cloud of mold spores that will spew in your face coating you, your hair, clothes and then floating the air and land on everything they can and where they can live for years! If you even crack that jar for a sniff! Consider yourself tammed!
Right back in the PC is really the ONLY sane option!
Right on. With the Light on!

Nice sand dose teemo! How long have they been in fruiting now? I need to get me some pan prints.. somehow I've gone all this time without a single one.
My eyes are better almost 3 years later. I was also living in a humid envirment back then. I've always wondered if the mold spores, plus the humidity in my home envirment worked togather.
Obviously I wasn't gonna ask the doctor about it lol. But yeah, it was awful.

Brrooooo that's a legit horror story...talk about worst case scenario....I'm so sorry that happened to you, I mean a part of me wants to laugh about It, cause I can find the humor in your spores turning against you and shrooms growing out your eyes making you go blind. But in actuality I bet that was a terrible experience, sorry you went through that. Hope all is better now! You scared me into wanting to throw away all my spawn.

bacterial ape vs healthy ape.
wbs.. bacterial. see how its poking through? and forming a matted like texture.

oats..

the myc is contained to the substrate. it doesnt grow upwards/outwards into the air.
cant wait for these to pin.
mexican clone. exposed grains. already showing knotts.

spawned 5/22

i like wbs because its basic. its like ordering pizza. its never going to be bad. oats is more like busting out the home cooking. takes more time but the reward is worth it. i dont mean time as in prep time. i mean it in the sense of learning curves. which i can be rather slow at
even slightly wet oats colonized in 11days from wedges. cant wait to try g2g but i need cleaner spawn. i could of done g2g on the ape but i wanted to spawn it really bad and get some clones/ spores.
however my output has dropped sharply and my patients has been tested while i learn so ill say i prefer WBS..as of now
wbs is just so fucking easy. soak, drain, load. now im examining my shit like a obsessed noob. dealing with uncertain grains.. ugh.

that makes sense
Once that grain prep tightens up I'm sure you'll love it. With WBS you know exactly what your looking for.
I've been considering switching to oats figured I'd ask you see how it was in comparison. thanks
