A Younger Girl..
    #2436666 - 03/15/04 08:08 PM (20 years, 17 days ago)

Hey all, I'm heading to bed rite now but I wanted to get something off my mind, and see if you all have any advice.

I'm 20 years old, and I met this girl who I really like, but shes only 17. Shes still in highschool too. Its kind of weird. I've been talking to my friends about it, and they say there's nothing wrong with it, just keep my pants on until I really know her well, and know she wont pull anything. They bust on my pretty bad about it though, so far I've been called pedophile, cradle robber, and my favorite, R. Kelly  But seriously, I really like her, do you guys think its wrong? She doesnt look 17 if you know what I mean.  I really like her a lot though, personality wise, and looks wise, and.... what do you think about it? Any personal experiences?

 Hope to read some responses tomorrow, I'll be back!

Check your state laws to make sure its not legal. Turns out legal age in Washington state is 16, unless you're like a teacher or boss or have a "position of authority" over the person.

3 years is not a big deal. I figure, I'm 5 years less mature than my age. And most hotties are mature for their age, so I don't really start questioning til I get down to like 14. (I'm 26)

When I was 20 I dated a 16 yr old girl with her parents blessings. I you are worried about legalities then hold off on the lovin' for a while. Make sure things are kosher. Also, you have to keep in mind that as she finishes school and possibly thinks about college, your relationship may be sacrificed to satify her changing needs .

my bf is a little over 3 years older than me, and this is the happiest i've been, we've been together for 5 months now... and i dont see an end to it anytime soon... :sun:

age is just a number, so dont worry about that... but unfortunately the govt seems to pay attention to that number, so just make sure to be careful in that aspect.

otherwise, goodluck!

when youre like.. 14 and 17.. and even 17 and 20.. three years can be a pretty big gap. You have to realize (well depending on you) that you both are pretty much at different stages in life.. but not by much. In a year or two, if youre both in college or whatever, it'll be better I believe.

but as you get older, 3 years mean less and less. I mean think about a 27 year old and a 30 yo.. thats Nothing. My sister is gonna be 28 next month, and her fiance (theyre getting married in barely a month) are 6 years apart.. hes 34. And you can't tell at all..

i'd def. agree with that. when i was 16 i was dating an 18 year old, all accepted into college and doing the senior partying thing... man i was thrown into a whole nother world.

now, my bf is 3 years older but we're both in college and kind of at similar places in life.

so yeah, thats a good point, acidcrys

Yeah when I was a senior in high school, I went up and down the age ladder.  I ripped on sometimes, for a three year difference, but then I'd get a 23 year old to sleep over on a school night.

a few years ago a friend of mine who was 18 was dating a 14 year old girl, at first we thought it was weird, and kinda twisted.
But after hanging out with the both of them together, I picked up the "vibe" sorta, that they worked really well together, and that he was just as stupid/immature/annoying as she was.
Personally Id say go for it, but watch out with the publicity, lol .
(they ended up breaking up for about a year, and then starting dating again, and are still dating today as far as I know).
So you never know..

The older you get, the less age difference seems to matter. It might be a big deal for a 20 year to be dating a 17 year old, but it is not a big deal for a 28 year old to be dating a 21 year old... go figure.

just be wary

i have 2 friends who started dating sophmores in high school while they were seniors/1year out

needless to say, they both got fucked once the girls graduated and went to college.

thats a huge life step, dont get hopes too high about not having major problems there.

You can send her over to me?

Hell, the only girls right now I could see myself dating are 6 years older than me.  As you get older, or if you have lived the life I have lived, or if you don't really live a normal life (like me), age differences get less and less important.  As long as they aren't too different, I have my limits of course.

Thats just silly.

First of all this is not a big deal, 20 and 17yrs old is totally normal.

I know in Europe people date much younger and there isn't such a huge issue with people 15-18 dating people a little bit older than them.

I mean its a case by case thing for me, 17-20 is so ridiculously fine that I wonder whats wrong with people who think that is wrong.

Shit, people were getting married at 13/14 only a few hundred years ago.

Crazy talk.

I think age is just a number, but the government doesnt.
They dont see my way on marijuana decrim. either  :stash:
But anyways, this is a little more of a issue, because its more so of a sexual interest then a possible relationship.
She parties a lot less then me, and I have this fear of 'corrupting' her. So... I take her out to dinner, and movies, but not to my friend's houses  cause we all know what goes on in my non-pimp time.  :stash:
