I can't tell if it's too much water or if it's too much flour in the mix. Did you do 2 cups verm 1 cup water 1 cup BRF? If so then either water got in during sterilization or he used waaaaay too much to inoculate.

Used the 2-1-1 ratio. 1cc inoculate. PCed with water level even with lids that jars were sitting on. Yes they were foiled. Dissapointed but pretty sure that's a syringe of Golden Teacher down the drain. Used 10-cc on 8 jars

If they're already inoculated I wouldn't toss them yet. See what happens, you don't have anything to lose at this point. Also I believe the jars are suppose to be 1-2 inches above the water. For future reference always give the jars a quick look before and after you sterilize to make sure the moisture content didn't get fucked.

Definitely looks like jars are too wet.
It is always better to mix a little on the dry side.
Grab a handful of your mix when you think it is right and squeeze it as hard as you can. If water squirts out between your fingers it is way too wet. If you squeeze it really good and you only get a few drips to come out then you have a near perfect moisture content.
You should always check your moisture with the squeeze test until you get your process down.

Honestly, those jars kind of look like you had too much water in the cooker and had some boil-over get in the jars during processing.

Those look way too wet and, assuming you followed the recipe to the letter, something went awry during sterilization.
Certainly wont hurt to wait and see how things play out...but I would also get a new batch of jars going if you can.

Hello Everyone Just a quick update. Initial inoculation was 5/20 then 5 days later I posted my concerns. I birthed and dunked for 24 hrs on 6/5 because well after birthing i noticed myc despite the over moisture issues. I rolled and set the next day well here they are today 23 days total after conception.
I realize now that since cake wasn't consolidated there will be myc growth until no more food is present and then hopefully the cakes will pin. The last ones concerns me. I also believe that the bluish tint is due to severe bruising as I definitely was not gentle with cakes to get them out of the jar (they were stuck to the overly wet verm). Thoughts ? Comments ? Questions? Concerns? Also have these brewing as plan B
