I'm pretty sure my anti psychotic meds are causing akathisia

I can't stand still and sitting still is barely manageable

has anyone else been through this and is there anything I can get over the counter that helps?

Will propanalol or cogentin even do anything if I get that prescribed?

I've seen this side effect in others. Nothing helped other than coming off said medication.

LMAO.

You are getting nasty side effects from drugs.

But listen to yourself , you are asking if more of these nasty drugs will help you out

Its silly , come off those meds.

Hopefully your new doctor can find a medication that works without side effects.  I had the first meds I tried caused my tongue to swell.  My doctor tried something else and it kind of worked.  For me, the third medication worked.  It takes time to find what is best.

Before seeking help with my brain, I developed scarring on my lungs from pneumonia. Without my daily medication my lungs would not work.  Don't be afraid of the stigma of taking medication for your brain on a daily basis. It's no different then taking heart medication every day to live.

You don't even know what he has or what he has it for.

Its reckless to tell him to quit a drug you don't know which is prescribed for a medical condition you don't know.

I have a calcium channel blocker that tends to make my ankles and feet swell up grotesquely, particularly in hot weather. On some days I have to wear tight supportive stockings to prevent this.

Dont you think I want to quit that pill?

If I quit I get another heart attack and DIE.

Its not that simple, and Akathisia is super uncomfortable.

I hope in 10 years there is a pill that wont givge me edema or him akathisia.
