Mr. Bungle is great   I really liked Carousel!!

Is Tomahawk the same band that went on the Lateratus tour with TOOL a couple years ago?  I only caught the last couple songs by them..from what I heard I guess they didn't sound too bad.

Maybe I should check out the others you listed..

Yeah, Tomohawk went on tour with Tool.
I was in agony when I saw them, the sounds they used were almost making my ears bleed. They used such grinding, harsh, high-pitched and abrasive sounds, that I had a headache thru Tool because of them--and I wasn't close to the stage.

I've heard amazing things about Mr. Bungle, and some other stuff he's done, but IMO Tomahawk was out to rupture my ear drums or make me go crazy thru sonic torture...

hehe one funny thing tho, he came out dressed as a cop, and made everyone chant "Fuck you Pig!" Then he threw a piece of meat out into the crowd. a BIG piece of meat.

Hehehe, another Patton fan

My friend (who's a huge FNM fan) got me onto his side projects. First it was Fantomas, then Tomahawk - but Mr Bungle took the longest to get used to. It used to drive me insane, and then one day it clicked. Disco Volante is now one of my favourite drug induced/sober albums. The way it jumps from musical styles is just insane, and not to mention all the bizarre lyrics and samples.
Both Tomahawk and Fantomas were on tour with Tool. Unfortunately I didn't get to see them with Tool, but got to see the Melvins. I have seen Fantomas live once (well, twice. I flew to Oz to see the Fantomas/Melvins/Tomahawk show - in that order - but the nazi at the door wouldn't let me in cause I didn't have the proper ID, a passport. I had my driver's license, but it wasn't good enough for them cause it wasn't an Australian license. They even IDed another NZ guy who looked like he was 30! ....bastards. So I had to taxi ALL the way back to where I was staying, grab my passport and go back and stand in the huge fucking line. By the time I got in, Fantomas had 15 mins left and I had to watch from the back). I dropped a tab before the Fantomas show and shit, that was an experience to remember. Very high energy and spastic. Mike Patton is the most hyper frontman I have seen.
I've seen Tomahawk twice - although I really prefer Fantomas, they put on a great show both times.
Now, if only they did one last Mr Bungle reunion tour :frown: But that wouldn't happen.
