Know that both Seattle and even moreso Portland are undergoing EXTREME gentrification. The average price of a 2 bedroom apartment is $1,400 (might be higher now). Five years ago it would have been $750.
Just something to keep in mind if you do want to move out to the PNW.

I would suggest any smaller cities within Washington, Oregon or Idaho. Stay away from bigger cities, very expensive.
Someday i wanna visit Miami. Seeing a hippie in Miami would crack me up

That might be a bit of an over exaggeration - I lived there 5 years ago and most things were around 1200$~ then as well

Idaho is beautiful. Miami sucks ass, no mountains or anything and its disgustingly hot and humid. Alligators and shit. Fuck that.
Ugly state. Tainted by the weather

I was renting a 4 bedroom house for $1200 in 2012. Currently it rents for $1900.
My current apartment used to be $750 a month, with the yearly increases it's now at $1160, small 2 bedroom apartment, and it's the cheapeast 2 bedroom in the area.

It is savage Renting is a horrible option in those areas especially. I guess I'm only referring to the Seattle area in which 750$ for a 2/br even 5 years ago would've been extremely cheap
Seattle did just complete about 10,000 apartments though, which should dip rents a bit I'm hoping.
Vacancy rates are very low in portland/seattle/SF and most of the west driving rents upwards.

I think there was a single year it didn't go up, but other than that every year we've been subjected to increase. I'm actually getting really bummed about the situation here, I'm trying to find an out- I need to get some work down in Corvallis and then try and get back into school. I've got 1.5 years left until I get my B.s in Chemistry, and I've got a 4.0GPA, it's just I am in debt and can't get loans right now.
Gotta escape this city before it makes me homeless.

It's tough I know I was forced to move away to save up to go back to school (In Corvallis) because of the same situation.
It's great if you have a STEM job in the area making upwards of 100k but if you don't you're shit out of luck.
