But campaign contribution limits make the cartoon irrelevant to American democracy. How much influence does $2700 buy?

So do you believe that SuperPacs don't support particular candidates? I know the law says they don't, but I don't live in Candyland.

Some do. That's not the same as giving a candidate money, however. Your cartoon is about giving a candidate money.

It's not legally the same. But it's very similar from an influence perspective.

The 2016 presidential campaign has barely begun, but it is already clear this will be the super contest of the “super PACs” — the fast evolving political money machines that are irresistible to candidates because they can legally raise unlimited money from donors seeking favor and influence.

Really? You think that advertising for a candidate is similar to handing the candidate cash? That's pretty absurd. One is a straight up bribe while the other is exercising freedom of speech.

no, they just want to prevent coercion, so that no more of their own power (developed by their own agency), in accordance with a municipality (if garnered with the consent of the locality), is fielded and foisted away from them, by outside forces.

You want to why the Vietman? wasn't sabotag3e the communist. Read the history of the Vietnam war got into it.
the reason was that the US sabotage Ho Chi minh to united vietanam. He wAnted a republic, model after the US constitution. He turned to the US, and the US ignored.
He got weapons and finance from Russia, to unite Vietnam.
You read the history of the war and take your head out of the ass before you know anything about what your talking about.

Ho Chi Minh WAS ignored, and was fought against at the behest of the US army. when does your ass requiring prying, exactly? he had to get weapons from RUSSIA (an enemy of the US at the time) precisely because the US DIDN'T HELP; and supposedly France are pussies,...well, America certainly were bitch made when they got sent to burn in napalm, and worse still, for the sake of propaganda.

IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH SABOTAGES THE COMMUNIST MODEL.
The Vietnamese were nationalist. I'm talking why the war started for US.

@starfire are you really going to pretend the Domino Theory and the spectre of spreading communism had zero to do with our way in Vietnam? Give me a break.

Yes, I do. It's not like politicians can pocket the money they receive from campaign contributions. They spend it on advertising in support of their campaigns - the same thing that super pacs do.
So ya, both are similar.

Your cartoon isn't about campaign contributions. It's about a billionaire literally giving a politician a sack of money. That's not even in the same ballpark as contributing to a PAC.

Not a very good one. Super PACS are independent of candidates.
