Cheers saralove, I just photograph the sexy looking mushrooms. Setup is nothing fancy just an old Sony RX100 compact with the addition of ND filters and Raynox macroscopic lens. Can't recommend it though. By far the worst camera I've owned in terms of durability.
Cheers! Your photos come out beautiful either way. Love your Gym shots too. They are my favorite to photograph in the wild. Have a good season!

I have P. alutacea started on agar so can hopefully contribute to this thread soon, maybe it could fruit directly from cased grain.
Thanks for chiming in inski! I'm sure you'll cruise right thru the alus no problem.

Been a bit quiet in here of late. I have some wild clones on agar at the moment. It was a modest challenge to get them to take due to contamination initially. Placing pins directly on agar failed in all attempts. I moved to tissue extraction. Being a diminutive species this can be tricky inside a glovebox. Procedure went as follows.
1. Sterilize all specimens prior to extraction by dunking in iodine. 2. Pluck the cap off to reveal the upper most concealed portion of stipe and transfer to agar.
Success rate has been greater than 90% with this method with 11/12 samples reverting within 24 hours. Slow but steady growth 4 days later without signs of contamination.
Using both MEA, H-POO agar (PH 6.6) with a first transfer to H-POO/aspirin agar (PH 5.5) to see if a slightly more acidic solution will improve growth rate. Will upload pics as things progress.

If you wanted to get this species in circulation and into the hands of some competent folks you could easily do some spore swabs on those wild specimens. Then send them off to some experienced cultivators.

Yes bobwastaken, I have been slack on this, hint taken I have been a bit distracted lately with band commitments and an upcoming job that will see me away from home for the next 3 months. I have collected plenty of data and wild observations of specimens and do have 10 dark prints of around 20mm diameter for circulation to those people interested in working towards cultivation and domestication of this species. I have just been too poor and too busy to get them out to people yet. This is a communal domestication and strain isolation project, as stated in my OP. THIS IS NOT A GIVEAWAY!!!!
with a brief message about why you want to work on this species and include any links/pics to your previous projects...... Hamloaf, EatY, Mushpunx, Bunya, you guys still interested???
