Oh I wouldn't let them go to that. But that's just me.
Here is my sad plant growing nice green tips. And the leaves are quite large. I was able to green it up again by adding some dolomite to it. Soil was way too acidic.

And my bushy plant. Leaves are smaller but more abundant.

Does anyone have a way to make the flowers set seed? It has flowered profusely for 2 years now and nothing. Not one seed. Flowers open and fall. I dont know what to do anymore. I let the little black ants practically have sex with the flowers but I dont know.

How acidic mine love ph 5 - ph 5.5 super lime green leaf and really accellerated the growth. Since dropping the ph my presumed dead plants have shot back to life and big plant just gets bigger. As for seeding no idea here, i get flowers all year round and had only one seed that dropped off as it almost reached maturity, tried to plant it and as i expected was still too green. Ive left the flowers alone ive cut a flower off and tickled another flower stigma to stamen or whatever the parts are called, ive used cue tips tooth picks everything i can think of and still they just wont have it. My first berry came at about the 2 year mark a year later (i think i posted a pic in this thread when it happened) still no more berries. Thinking about adding a bee hive in there to pollenate .

Nah man we got bees everywhere here. There's an orange orchard like a block away and they have bee hives so they make there way here often. Bumblebees too. Those are thw ones that mostly pollinate my moringas. Maybe they need more years or something. I'm at a loss here.
My very first novo I was able to get like 3 berries first year it flowered then my ex wife killed it so maybe that one would have been the winner.
Anways I'm not too dissapointed as the flower is way bushy and its only getting bigger.

I'm just curious if any of you have tried any of your coca yet. I recently cut mine back and got a pile of leaves to chew. The first round didn't do much, I wasn't sure if the sensation in my mouth was from the coca or baking soda. The second round was a little better. I'm starting to wonder if the effects are there but not easy to recognize if you aren't accustomed to it. That's how kratom was for me in the beginning. I also wonder if potency will increase during the summer months. My plants are growing but not at full pace yet, and I'm just now giving them some direct sun. I am trying to root some cuttings, I'll let you know if it works out.

Just put in an order for 20 berries... I've tried these before and failed many times .. I've even gotten them to 8+ months, and still died. Any pro tips, fellas? I live in a dry, hot climate, so I keep them indoors.

Plant the berries the second they arrive, use coir mix with perlite i have had nothing but success with that. They hate to be too wet i wait until the pot is bone dry before watering the pot feels as light as a feather then i bottom water, for some reason they seem to grow better. Use water thats acidic ph5-6, if using chemical nutes cocas prefered ratio is 9-3-6 orchid food and ive finally found the perfect amound which is 1/4 of what it says to feed the orchids. This is my experience may differ to others, i have one big plant and 2 that i nearly killed and using this food one is doing amazing the other still needs work.
The two smaller ones are the two that went black so i snipped them right back and they came back well one came back the other one is still trying. Weirdly all 3 are the same age planted at the same time all treated the same feed together sit in the same grow room etc its like each one has its own personality.

Im not sure i think it says its an extract made by the company that makes the extractor?? Weird wording how can you sell whats effectively aqua riga youd only need to add potassium permanganate to oxidize the none coke alkaloids then youd have real coca cola juice lol. That website sells some cool sounding shit wish i didnt have to get them through customs to try them id rather not have police asking me why im bringing them in.

Novo seedlings were difficult to say the least. I started with 11 but only 3 survived. That first 9-12 months my plants were very fragile and didn't have a woody stem. I was afraid that rain would knock them down and break the stem. Once the stem is woody, you're good and growth picks up substantially.

Yes, true. Only 2 of mine 10 survived. Came with good karma attached too. The remaining 2 are good. One has huge leaves but not as bushy. The other smaller leaves but very bushy.

I know this is a bit off topic, but it seems like participants in this thread might have the answer to a question of mine. I have some 2 year old Catha Edulis seeds that I am trying to germinate. I don't seem to be having much luck with these, though the germ rate wasn't so bad when I first got them... Any pointers?

I've read catha seeds need to be fresh to germinate
Not sure if they lose viability or just go dormant. In the latter case stratification (cold period), scarification (chemically with these size seeds) or plant hormones could promote germination

What would you use to chemically score them? I know that the have compounds in them which inhibit germination, like cacti seeds do.

Sulfuric acid
Make or break soak period is said to range from a minute to over an hour for various type of seeds

I always pour boiling water over them to start. It worked great when they were fresh. I just ordered more seeds from Australia. I hope they arrive!
