If you had holes in the lids, it shouldn't have been a problem getting them off...
How did you innoculate them??

the guy used a glovebox in a hepa filtered room to innoc..and no air exchange...does pf use air exchange while in pc? i told him to go over the tek but he cant find anything on air exchange.. although he has now realized its much easier to just tighten lid and then screw it back off a little before using the pc

he prob mixed up his substrate, capped them, pc'ed, then was going to take them out and punch his holes. which consequently would have made the negative pressure a non-issue...

dude. if there are no holes in the lid, then they never got innoculated...and plus he wouldn't have pc'ed them after innoculation....would kill the spores

Probably won't colonize all the way without having to put holes in it or take the lids off which would introduce contams at this point I would think... Once the oxygen is used up they stop growing from what I understand... Thats why most people will tell you to take off tape over holes etc, flip jars upside down, to let co2 drain, and o2 get in. If they do colonize I think it would be very very very very slow... but what do i know... Edit: Also taking the lids off the jars after pcing seems a bit risky IMO...

yup he realized it was risky to take lid off and innoc but he is still learning and jsut wanted to try it this way, could u still let some air exchange if u would jsut loosen the lid during incubation? iam pretty sure i have read that somewhere?

no need to get complicated....just put some holes in your lids and you'll be fine.

well the thing is, they are plastic easier said then done puttin holes in them need to take them off and drill the suckers...so since they need air and holes seem to be best as far as iam hearing here..iam thinking ill pc the new lids take em to my gb and swap non vented lids for ones with holes and tyvek
