Not at all.  No.  Uh, uh.  I want something I can predict (to a degree) not a hot-mess of volatility.

Just in case anyone was wondering, some of this move in BTC can be attributed to Elon Musk changing his Twitter bio to #bitcoin and in turn, forcing the liquidation of many millions of short positions.  Regardless of its origins, and for whatever it may be worth, I am not selling into this strength.

Any time frame she looks good.

Strong consolidation and very poised for a move

Mainly looking at the hour but shes staying above that immediate up trend and shes started consolidating nicely below that 1440 mark. Hasnt bounced down to that trend line or broke for a new trend. Constricting inward

Btc is looking very poised to me too

There will be a move soon though. Up or down.

Ima def try and catch it either way

Right now its broken the downtrend and is so far holding (btc)

If that reverts ill prolly sell

Thata btc breaking its downtrend and holding above it and looking like its consolidating there atm

Honestly, I really don't know the answer.  I look for TRENDS to identify opportunity.  I don't give a shit about what their business model is, so long as there's sufficient liquidity and volume.

I use a handful of basic analysis tools and rules that, believe it or not, I learned on YouTube over the course of a few months, and honed and tested with "mock" trades before my first real trade.

I greatly favor Heikin-Ashi candle use, RSI and volume to identify trends.  TRENDS ARE YOUR FRIENDS!!! All the analysis tools I mentioned are FREE and available using Cryptowatch.  When you use H-A candles you will not likely get in on the bottom, but you will almost certainly identify the TREND (up or down) off a low and signalling upwards price moves - which is absolutely KEY if you are going to take a "long" position.  Interpreting H-A candles is stupid easy.  They literally are "arrows" - IF you select an appropriate time frame as instructed below.  With crypto, I tend to use 4 and 6 hour candles since things change fast, and unlike the stock market, never closes!

This video lays it ALL OUT:

Just search Heikin-Ashi on YT and you will find even simpler explanations on H-A candle interpretation...but this one is THE BEST.  Listen to it multiple times if necessary to get past the dude's accent.

I took positions in both OMG (at 3.82, as above) and ZEC at 92.31.  Both show the exact pattern demonstrated in this video.  Both (at the moment) are up.  For fuck sake, after watching that video, who could MISS this??? ZEC).  Two doji and then up, up, up.

Thanks man.  Check out the chart.  Difference in time was like 17 hours.  Green dot is my entry price (3.874) and red dot was my exit at 4.600. Now, that doesn't sound like a lot (it's 0.726 difference) but multiplied by 1028.78 coins that's $746.90 before some trivial fees which collectively were less than $20.00 IIRC.  It's not so much the money, which is actually small potatoes.  It's the accidental truly flawless timing!  Could not have hit it better - and it was purely by ACCIDENT.

I managed to pick up 12 ETH in the overnight while I slept at 1650/coin.  Something weird I've never seen though when I logged onto Coinbase Pro this morning.  The purchase was done in a multitude of tiny amounts, each with a tiny fee associated with it, instead of one lump purchase.  List of micro-purchases went completely off the visible page of my CB Pro account!  WTF is that all about???  Anyone???

Well, that explains a lot. ETH is just creeping along.  I acquired 12 at 1650, and I have a good-till-cancelled sell at 1740.  Might touch that tonight or tomorrow morning if a little volume returns.  Here's how I drew it out...but not sure I did it right.  Still learning that skill.

Tesla has a $821 Billion market cap today, they can buy tons more of Bitcoin if they choose to do so. They can either issue shares or go to the bond market and borrow at 1% for 30 years and finance the purchase. This is going to open the flood gates for other big companies to do the same thing in the months ahead.

Mmmmm...and that will bring way more volatility because those whales can enter AND LEAVE the market on a whim.  It'll be GameStop all over again, but in a different market.  Assholes with piles of cash who can manipulate markets by throwing their weight around or short-selling.  Then the Reddit crew (or similarly organized bunch) will swoop in and pull the same stunt they did with GameStop - all to the detriment of the little guys like us.  I don't greet that news with anything but horror.

I'm 100% in cash right now.  Watching ETH slide a bit while I work. Not caring much about it, either.  Want to try something else maybe - like LINK or OMG or ZEC when the time is right - unless ETH tanks royally and I can ride it up again.  My net from yesterday to today was $1,700 with ETH contributing $1080.00.

I sold all my BTC around $4,600, then made a quick buck with Digibyte, now I'm into ADA for the night.

Going to Yosemite tomorrow to check out the "Fire Falls" so I'm going to go all cash in case the Paradigm Shift happens. I would just set a stop loss, but when we go down I think it will happen too fast to trigger my stops. I've been wrong quite a bit lately so who knows? Better safe than sorry though.

Are we getting Greedy or Delusional?

Could it be possible that we are still at the Media and Enthusiasm stage?

Doge constantly going through the roof seems delusional, but BTC going up because Elon is talking smack seems like the Media phase.

Crypto investing is Usury.

Just like fiat money and very much unlike gold and silver, crypto is an intangible asset, which serves as a proxy for making transactions. If you buy Ethereum to buy a sheet of ALD-52, you are transacting your labor for anothers.

But, if you Crypto INVEST, you use Crypto as a proxy, a token, to facilitate lending out your wealth in the expectation of greater wealth in return.

And THAT is Usury.

By Judaism, by Christianity, by Islam.

Crypto is not "the new gold", crypto is a new and improved twist on fiat currency.

Crypto is BETTER FOR TRANSACTING than "money", but INVESTING in crypto, that is practicing Usury.

I did my thing with it, I will use crypto for transaction but not for investment purposes, as lucerative as it is.

I need to EARN my gains, and not gamble on getting interest on them by lending them to the crypto community in hopes of deriving profit from my lending.

What?

u·su·ry
/ˈyo͞oZH(ə)rē/
noun
noun: usury

the illegal action or practice of lending money at unreasonably high rates of interest.
    "the medieval prohibition on usury"

Crypto doesn't fit the definition of usury, nobody is lending us BTC with an interest rate, Asante.
What are you getting at?

You're looking at the modern day legal definition, not the spiritual/religious definition. The original definition of usury is to lend money to gain it back plus a profit. The lending of money is supposed to be charitable, not-for-profit.

When you buy a crypto with your heard earned wealth to buy the fruits of another person's labor, such as a sheet of AL-LAD, nothing is amiss.

But if you buy a Crypto to hold it and then sell back at a profit, you are committing the original meaning of Usury, which is loan out your capital with the intent to retrieve it with a profit.

You know how they say "With Crypto YOU are the Bank!"?
Exactly that.

You are using a token, millions or billions of which have been created out of thin air, as an IOU to lend out your money so you can get it back later with an interest. You are the moneylender trying to take advantage of the community of that Crypto by attempting to loan out capital to take it back with a profit, as opposed to buying 1.3 USRY to buy an item in a store that asks you 1.3 USRY for it.

But, but, but! Arent Gold and Silver a sort of tokens too?

Actually Gold and Silver are the result of toil and suffering, hard labor, they have practical applications such as in electronics and mirror optics, and, above all.. The main religious cluster of the world, Judeo-Christian-Islamic faith is 100% clear that the only acceptable money are honest weights and measures of gold and silver and the latest book in the series, the Qu'ran, goes as far as specify the weight and purity that the Gold Dinar and Silver Dirham should have:

You can look in the mirror and see, in silver reflected, your gold tooth

Crypto has no inherent value, like the dollar, it in fact is a system that eats massive amounts of energy and Internet bandwidth.

Its NOT, honest weights and Measures of Gold and Silver.
Its a token, and if you buy a token to sell with a profit, you are a Usurer in the religious meaning of the word.

Legally, no you are not a loan shark by the legal definition, but in Torah/Bible/Qu'ran terms, yes you are Usuring.
