Bloodbath across crypto and stocks
Still waiting on limits to hit, maybe we'll get some sort of capitulation event in the coming weeks.
Some of these "crypto analysts" are saying that BTC is giving all the indications that it completed another market cycle, so question now is what will be the new "normal/fair value" bottom where we enter a new accumulation phase for the next bull run.
I consolidated my ADA, CRO, and DOT to BTC. I think alts will continue to slide drastically compared to BTC, per usual. Looking to up my ETH bag once the market really shits itself in order to run a few validators when 2.0 drops
Slightly unrelated: had this Safemoon scam saga appear in my Youtube recommended channel earlier this week and its been an interesting watch. Some dude called Cofeezilla made like a 3 part kill shot on the shitcoin

I'm sort of stressed about it actually.. Any advice anyone?

Get your shit straight Fiery. Is this couple thousand dollars really "to invest" or is it really your "emergency fund". Because it can't be both. It sounds to me like you absolutely should NOT be putting that money into play. The markets are incredibly volatile right now. I understand the temptation, but it just isn't worth it if that's money you are counting on, because short-term, crypto can go either way. There will always be markets to trade, and at the moment, all markets are very high risk.

Fiery I'd keep that emergency fund at hand if I were you because its very likely that there will be financial bumps in the road soon.
Only crypto I hold now is PAXG, awaiting the masrkets to look better.
PAXG is on the gold standard, so its tokenized gold with the fractional liquidity and steady growth of gold.
It is a better store of value than dollars, over time, and it lacks most of the risk of most crypto. It just won't climb any faster than gold - 8% annually, on average. a hedge against inflation.
I can sell it in roughly <$10 increments today and have it on my bank account the next day, and this at +8% a year. Beats ANY savings account.

I'm taking a gamble and bought an not uninteresting amount of LUNA at €0.00048 and set a sell order for €0.002
I'm expecting that shortterm gambling actions will gamestop a quadrupling in the short order - not because the fundamentals arent flawed, they are but counting on the psychological effect. We see a lot of gambling here in the thread, this will happen worldwide, people see it rise and get hope.

This isnt rational but people arent rational and its only a 3 billion market now.

You don't know the bottom until after it's come and gone
Noone will ever know when bottom is
We can try and predict it but it's just an educated guess based on previous history and current price action
When to buy and sell is just educated guessing
We have historic bottoms around the 200ma on the weekly chart.
If you want to catch the bottom and reversal then watch for support and a bounce at an expected level
Eth would be around your 1200 mark
You have to do like geo says
You either buy dips and sell rips trading around your core investment, or you plan your trade and trade your plan
If you plan to catch eth at 1200 then I'd start buying as it approaches 1200 so you don't miss the mark and have a plan and strategy for if it keeps nose diving
Historically you will have some time to accumulate at a desired level, such as weeks or months trading in a price zone
If you develop a plan and make a case for why then once it happens don't hesitate to pull the trigger
If we touch our 200ma which basically coincides with the Gap fill to our previous peak and turn bullish on a weekly timeframe by trading above our moving averages then I'll be throwing every cent I have available in
Until then Ill be accumulating and scalping the highs with quick buys back in on dips for some extra coin
Proven reversal is going to take some time to show

Current market conditions don't bother me at all, I welcome it
Fortunate enough not to have any entry at the tops
Opportunity to accumulate
I'll be building as large of a portfolio as I can for as long as this lasts and into the next catalyst

I posted this over in the Stocks thread, but figure it deserves a place here as well, especially seeing as how tense some of the conversational flow has become, which is rather disappointing, although somewhat understandable as I know from experience that down and especially highly volatile markets can have a negative psychological effect on active traders. This is principally why I opt to take a step back when the market isn't moving favorably for my style of trade, some types of markets just aren't worth the mental energy they require.
With that, I'm hittin' the road this morning to drive up the Californian coast to Morro Bay, camp in Monterey Bay, visit a friend in the SF area and a final stop in southern Oregon to hang out with family. Looking forward to the respite, although with a 5 year old in tow, perhaps respite isn't exactly the word I'm looking for.
Anyways... From one of the newer trade mentors, Scott @ StockMarketMentor this morning, I dig...
Quote:
Moving from a Goal Mindset to a Growth Mindset
Good morning Team! Some green on the screen this morning as the market works itself off of some extremely oversold levels. Rocky’s note is spot on in terms of what we want to see from a Bottom, but agile and active traders can play these swings, just make sure you have clear lines in the sand. Want to watch some of the Leaders for strength like $AMZN, $AAPL, $NVDA, $AMD, $GOOGL, $MSFT and the like. Just keep a close eye on those Moving Averages lurking overhead as resistance levels.
This is the time a lot of traders quit. This is the time when a lot of traders realize how hard trading consistently and profitably can be. There’s a moving target for blame underway and tensions can run hot. It’s my belief that out of chaos leaders appear and opportunity arrives. If you've been here for a while, you have a huge wealth of knowledge to draw from and there’s likely someone who needs to hear what you have to say. So during this brutal bear, I ask that you step up in a cheerful manner and help those around you. Take this as your opportunity to share what you know and grow together as a trading community.
John C. Maxwell has a great talk I heard over the weekend and he says how he was inspired to learn about Leadership based on someone he heard saying “it only takes 1 hour a day for 5 years to become an expert on a specific topic”. For many of you in the background who haven't posted in the forum I have a feeling you have a lot of great things to share. What you’ll find is by helping others, not from a place of ego but from a place of genuine care and understanding you will grow as a person and as a trader. You’ll move from a place of “How Long will it take?” into a world of “How far can I go?”. As you grow and help others your trading improves because you’re holding yourself accountable.
Engage with each other. Ask questions. Talk about your wins AND losses. Share ideas even if you’re not sure. And remember that there’s no right way or wrong way to make money in the market, there’s only what makes sense to you and your personality.
Let’s use this down time in the market as our chance to grow so when the good times come back, we’re stronger and closer than ever.

Thanks for the read Geo, as always ✊
Have a safe and fun trip, love moving up the coast, and know Morro bay quite well. We used to visit San Simeon for a week at a time up until quite recently. What I wouldn’t give to have a week now to do that . Enjoy it brother.
Almost dropped another K straight onto BTC, but instead bout some ammo and magic cards. Figured it’s good to think outside of the investment lens every now and then. Might still make the drop, but feel happily exposed for a 10 year timeframe.

AS FORETOLD THE XLM IS AT 12 CENTS NOW, THE BUY OPPORTUNITY IS NOW, AND THERE IS ANOTHER GIVEAWAY. ONLY 1500 PLACES FREE
GRAB YOURS NOW
its not important to be in on the giveaway, not as important as just grab a comfortable few XLM and HODL the crap out of it till it 100x. A cent on the dollar. Only a bit of spare change guys, the HODL will be long.
Superstitous pennies, not your life savings.
His definitive advice is to set a 25% sell order at $0.50 to retrieve the sum invested and set the rest at a sell order of $10 per XLM and never look back, or perhaps throw some small change at it once every so often.
As to fundamentals he says: "All that matters is that I am fundamental. what's so fundamental about Doge? Take a chance on me."

OK, I can share it, the number of slots is dropping fast.
I clicked your link and the "available staking slots left" counter started counting down from just above 1500, even though you mentioned that there were only 1500 places available 31 hours ago. This made me curious, at which point I noted the URL you provided is https://stellar.org.bw/ -- this is highly suspect, as https://Stellar.org does not indicate that URL as an official arm on their Security Guide and it would appear to be a classic URL spoof attempt.
