ETH seems to have very solid support at 1220. I bought 9K worth at 997 so I'm OK right now at 1260. With BTC stagnating at 30.6K, my plan is to add more ETH on any serious dip between 1240 and 1220. Would also consider taking a position in Chainlink at 20 - 20.5, but honestly, there's just too much to watch over when you have multiple Altcoins - since I like to try and time the market (I guess we all do).
I'm going to have a self-imposed hard limit of $25,000 invested across all crypto unless and until I see major upside potential. To that end, I just moved another $10K (un-invested)to Coinbase Pro.
What exchange(s) are folks here using?

I use webull for charts.
Eth on the 1 hour looks bullish as fuck to me
I use cryptowatch for charts - plus I can trade (although I haven't) from my Coinbase Pro account on their site.
ETH is at 1,300 this morning. Could kick myself for not buying last evening or yesterday sometime while 80 cheaper. Frankly, I think we're looking at another day of flat prices on ETH.

I'm using after tax dollars and I'm based in the USA. I'd rather make it and pay taxes than not make it at all.
FWIW, I did an "instant" transfer of cash of 10K to Coinbase Pro this morning at 6:00am and it said I could use it to trade "instantly." That turned out to be bullshit. Tried to buy $5,000 of ETH at 1228 about 20 minutes later and it flashed red "Insufficient Funds." No chance to try again because of work obligations. Given the move up to 1343 (at 3:02pm) I'm PISSED!!

EXACTLY. Watching ETH closely this morning. Transferred all my assets from Coinbase to Coinbase Pro (free) last night to exploit the MUCH lower fees on Pro. May pull the plug on ETH if it nears 1470 and buy back on the retracement. Monitoring using Heikin-Ashi candles on the 1 and 4 hour intervals to smooth out the bumps. RSI is still in comfortable 64% range, so not overbought...yet. (at 8:15 am).
BTC is pumpin' at +20.2% (37,600). Hope it takes ETH with it.

That was/is my plan, but it doesn't look like the momentum today is going to carry it nearly that high. Approaching a doji (indication of a trend reversal/turn around) ATM (9:22am) at 1417ish.

Id want to keep a position in case it breaks to a new ath which i think is quite possible
But dont let me fuck with tour profits, just something to consider maybe
No worries - I appreciate all thoughts, inputs and opinions. The plan is to take profits at 1470 where I see significant resistance, then buy back on the retracement. On a lunch break from work to check in here.
Man, I NAILED the timing (but took no actions whatsoever) of today's top within a minute or so using the Heikin-Ashi metrics and RSI. If I wasn't a pig I could've pulled off a well-timed sell, but as far as I can determine, the 10K I transferred yesterday morning STILL is not available to invest. Although the pop-up says it is "instantly available" their HELP pages say it could be 3 - 5 days.
FUCK I am pissed - because if the cash was there to be utilized, I could've sold when it 1430 and would've bought it back in the same amount of ETH at whatever low we're headed towards (indicators still lower at 1350 right now) with the cash while the sale reconciled - which also could be 3 - 5 days if I read the HELP page correctly.
While I typed this ETH dropped from 1350 to 1346 and is showing (on Heikin-Ashi candles) a further drop before a recovery. No H-A doji in sight at 1:55pm today - but RSI is a very reassuring 43 - indicating ETH is oversold and will likely bounce later today.
Let's see if I'm right.

It reached down to 1310.50 (pretty damned close to the 1305 I predicted) which was a SLIGHTLY higher low than the 1287.50 from 11:00pm last night. We got a solid indication of a green doji at 3:00pm to end the downturn, and right on schedule ETH clawed its way back up to 1359 where it is right this instant (4:16pm).
I think we're lateral and boring from here until tonight at least - although I can't deny a whale might come along and blow prices upwards. Volume has been meh, and RSI is at 49, so kinda neutral, although probably a tempting indication of an oversold condition to some. If you see higher volume, the price will almost certainly go up from an RSI of 49. BTC is at 34.4 x 10^3, up 4% on the day.
EDIT: FWIW, my plan remains exactly the same. 1470 remains my target based upon my past purchases and profit threshold. Pumpin' now. (4:26pm). Up to 1368.
FURTHER EDIT: 5:33pm ETH at 1400!

Yes, I think you must be right. My transfer from BOA to Coinbase Pro finally showed up as cash I can invest just a few minutes ago. Pissed I missed a couple of OBVIOUS ETH pumps and dumps with no ability to trade yesterday. Now all is quiet. Was thinking of submitting a limit order for a couple of grand of Chainlink at 21.00.
Also, generated an API and got my Coinbase Pro account linked up with Cryptowatch, so I can trade from either platform. Now it's up to the market to do me right. I'm locked and loaded.

I'm ready for either direction. I have a good till cancelled limit sell on the books if ETH takes off and reaches 1470 while I sleep (crazy rich Asians!) and if it goes in the crapper, I have cash to buy more at the bottom knowing full well it'll recover eventually, and I can make $$$ on the rebound.
Link is having a really good day 24.30 ATM. Don't own any but again, I have a good-till-cancelled order on the books to buy 100 at 21.0 should it tumble while I'm not looking. Doubt either of those orders will execute, but I'm glad to have them on autopilot so I can pay less attention to the market. Was kinda getting swept up into wasting my time monitoring, and this way I can play without being "in attendance."
You all probably know about it - but I just installed a free app on my Iphone12 called Crypto Pro. Easy to configure, and has alerts, so I set up three. One for BTC if it goes below 32,500, and one each for ETH and LINK to alert me to the likely execution of the above-specified orders on the books with Coinbase Pro. I'll bite on BTH at any price between 30 and 32K just for long-term shits and giggles.

I have a good-until-cancelled order in for 3.5 ETH at 1,300.00. Not unrealistic to see that since it dipped to 1282 only a few hours ago. Wish I'd left a limit order for 1300 last night before I went to bed.
Really should just put in a market order if it dips to 1310, but fuck it, I'm a cheap bastard and the only way to make money is to buy low and sell high. For that, patience and missed opportunities come with the territory. Watching my green diamond open order vacillate back and forth from the mid-market price is amusing while I do other shit on the computer.
FWIW, my favorite indicator the Heikin-Ashi remains bearish, so I'll play "wait-n-see."

Not a bad plan. It was only 3 days ago that it saw 1208 for a brief moment. I wonder if folks woke up today and read the article about India possibly banning cryptocurrency which is not of their own creation - which apparently is under serious consideration by the Indian government. That's a LOT of people to take out of the crypto market.

YES. It's an available "alternative" candlestick that averages over trends to make them less "lumpy" so you can see an intermediate time span trend. "The trend is your friend!" Truer words were never spoken. EDIT: WHOA. IN AT 1,300 with plenty of cash to average my cost down if it REALLY goes in the toilet!!!!
Just placed another good-till-cancelled order for the same amount of ETH at 1150 to dollar cost-average my recent purchase down to 1225, should the (nearly) unthinkable happen and that opportunity present itself. My first purchases (around $9,000 worth) were made at a mere 997 early in January, so I'm good no matter what happens.

Green doji on ETH. New direction is likely upwards - at least in the short term. Just how much of a pump will result is to be seen. FWIW, ETH is grossly oversold with an RSI of less than 40.
