Yeah I bought 1 litecoin at $30 a couple months back or so. Whenever it was $30 and was shocked when it shot to $300.

I think bit, eth, and lite will all continue to grow in the next couple years as well as other alt coins as they compete for that 4th spot.

Bitcoin will continue to rise and hold supreme though.

It is basically regarded as equivalent to gold while litecoin and etherum are similar to silver.

Bitcoin right now is the value to which all other coins are compared.

Although it could be replaced.... At this point it seems unlikely unless something very drastic happens over time.

Hmm that's interesting. Yeah I might invest a small amount in ICN as well.

I want to have a little bit of bitcoin, ether, and litecoin, then some smaller alt coins like xlm, xpr, icn, at least that's what I'm thinking at the moment.

Fuck, shoulda read the earlier posts ... but things change so quickly as well.

I'm hopin Bitcoin and eth and lite all crash around mid January when I'll have money to invest

When I do, I'm buying and holding. Gonna forget about it and check back next year.

I'll probably try to stay up to date relatively in case any big changes predict disaster... But I plan to buy and sit.

I don't have a lot to invest though anyway

Lol.

It's funny to me that people think crypto will crash. Then don't invest

I'm not recommending invest all your money, only invest what you're willing to lose.

But as far as technology goes and application, i believe it is no doubt the future of global money exchange and business, the volatility is because the market is just launching.

As things progress it should calm down. Possibly over the next year or longer.

Companies are going to want to jump on board with this technology as soon as they understand how it will benefit them.

When that happens, the coins that get chosen will be worth more. That's all there is to it... Especially if the company that uses the technology buys a bunch of the coins in order to give the coin some balance.

At least if you ask me..

The only thing I am concerned about is the potential for the government to jump in and change things, but inevitably they will be unable to stop this technology.

As I said, digital decentralized currency is the future, imo.

I'm with you asante, the more information we exchange and share with each other on possible negative outcomes, the better we all are in saving ourselves if things do take a nose dive, i have no fear of that myself and don't even plan on paying attention to current news that much to be honest.

My advice to anyone who is considering investing, an investment is something you do when you have confidence in the potentiality of your investments future.

I guess unless you're a day trader.

But do some research on where you plan to invest. Look at who is running the show, what they are trying to do, and who they have been talking to and working with.

As mentioned, some alt coins are being hyped up about potentiality for a bright future, XRP is one of them. Their developer, who you may want to do a little research on, actually moved to XLM and made his own coin. I believe both coins have a lot of potential myself.

The main coins, bitcoin, etherum, litecoin, these are going to be around for a while... I believe they will all grow in overall value over the next year or two within the volatility we see.

https://coinmarketcap.com/

Thats not a bad place imo to get some info on cryptos.

ripple's success is dependent on if they land the deals with banks the way they hope to.

Definitely a risk, but if they do get some banks to use their coin in the coming 2018 it will become much more valuable.

2018 will be a huge year for crypto...

Curious why XRP is on the rise at the moment.

I bought some when it was at $.6.. missed it at $.4. But I barely bought any and planned on it being a long term investment. But now with the current price I'm wondering if it as a bump and dump and I could sell and rebuy for a gain, and continue to hold for my long term plan..

Any thoughts on XRP and why its rising right now when a lot of the market seems in the red?

Cool.

I guess I'll just sit on it as planned.

Really wish I would have had the funds at the time for more and was able to have got it when I wanted...

But still seems like it will at least make me a little extra money..

Thanks for the reply Bodhi

That's good advice shrooms.

And I agree that unless a coin matches BTC market cap, BTC will remain king.

BTC will rebound. Because it is still worth much more than it is currently priced at.

So are other coins.

There are good opportunities for long term investment and the volatility makes opportunity for large short term gains possible as well.

But that's just my view

XLM, follow ripple please

I still think it will see longer term gains in the coming year.

I told my friend about it when I bought it and he didn't buy, now he wants to find the next one and triple a $1,000 investment

I think XLM might follow soon...

Im poor so I only have 100 ripple.

I have high hopes for XLM and I only have 287 of those.

Wish I woulda made a move this drop and grabbed some coin while i had the opportunity, does anyone else feel this is easily a predictor for future waves?

This drop was an amazing opportunity to sell and buy back in with easy gains and go for another ride.

I think i might sit it out and watch until the next fall, then make my move.

Only problem is, I definitely believe one of these falls could rebound and never drop to those levels again. Might miss the ship.....

yeah dude. Or you could take your gains off the top and have the same number of coins.

I'm not really seeing any huge drops happening consistently though.

Maybe the charts im looking at suck or i didn't spend much time looking, but it seems like this was the first major drop, and I don't see any other major drops in the history.

Not saying that it won't become a consistent thing, just saying that from my standpoint, this seems to be the first major drop.

Is that wrong...? My friend keeps telling me there are consistent trends. And I agree there is consistent volatility, but I don't necessarily see any consistent trends as far as this most recent correction.

There seems to be consistent gains with small drops on the way, not including this most recent drop/correction.

Yes it is wrong but you'd of had to pay attention for years to notice this wasn't even close to the worst drop it's seen, if anything it was relatively normal. In fact a drop around the same % as yesterday has happened around 7 times this year alone.

Posted it before but this video pretty much sums it up in a nutshell.

Thanks for the video dude.

Lmfao at that the way dude talks, "and then it crashed!"

Stone, I basically have your strategy as my own.

My original strategy was spend what I don't care to lose, on investments I think have real potential for future gains, and hold.

My friend keeps trying to convince me to pick good buys before the hype hits, buy big, then dump after the hype.

For example, he said he thinks verge is going to shoot up because they have a tech announcement coming up, and seems people flock and buy in those cases, especially with hype going on about it.

Basically we are at this consensus where we plan to buy and hold coins long term, possibly dump before drops and rebuy if we can predict an event like this current drop, but also look for those opportunities of quick growth.

If he's right, I think verge is around $.20 or something. He was thinking of buying a couple hundred, then if the tech announcement causes a big spike, sell and take the gains. Some people were predicting a rise up to or possibly past $1, but I haven't researched this particular coin at all myself.

So far, i've only bought and held, and I am definitely UP. Really wish I had a couple $ when the drop came, but definitely watching the side lines waiting to see how I want to play when the time comes for a move..

Good luck guys,

Thanks geo! appreciate you man.

Anyone considering grabbing nxt or the free ignis drop ...?

Certain platforms support it by the way, not sure all.

But I was definitely considering it, especially with prices at their current lows.

Anyone else on nxt ?

My plan was to grab NXT right before the ignis airdrop, if the price continues to drop, then sell both right after the drop.

Think its a risky move...?

If the price was high I wouldn't buy it. Its possible not a lot of people even know about it. Not a lot of people even know about crypto or know what's going on with the market.

The drop is the 28th.

If people do start buying, the price will rise between now and when I sold.

Both ignis and NXT would have to drop super fast for me to miss selling.

Coinbase is insured.

Not sure if Binance is too, but I do use Binance. Heard bittrex or something might be a good one too, but i like binance so far so ill stay.

Not sure why you don't think BTC will do the fork and give you your free coins.

They've done it before, and this one has been announced. It's not just random hype or something.

Could be false, but no reason to believe so to me.
