The Circle 6/10
Great concept that is ruined by awkward pacing and a message that the film practically beats you over the head with.

Wick 2,OK I guess, some good hand to hand combat, the story is just so fantastical though Watched like 30 minutes of new chappele comedy stand up,really not funny, guy had like ten years to think up new material and came up with dogshit watching season 3 of Fargo, pretty good, some of the dialogue is cheesy though

Quadrophenia(1979)- 7.5/10
Bona flick on mod youth ov early to mid 60s England and escapades with the rockers and self-identity. A spiffy peep into the mostly overlooked subculture as they scootered about and got into barneys with the rockers and each other. Very interesting atmosphere, motorabilia, and mostly Who-based soundtrack cast over a typical tale ov teen angst and seeking identity to escape alienation. Though seen mostly through the mod perspective, the early scene ov the former friends having a nude singing battle as they bathed afforded a precursor to the ultimate perception that the two groups were similar when stripped ov their chosen identities. Great period culture piece that also addressed a coming ov age tale, if not to the same deep effect ov the fantabuloso American surfer flick 'Big Wednesday' from the year prior. But damn, does Sting have presence in this despite his limited role!

Pig Death Machine(2013)- Awesome/10
You really cant rate such a flick. Yaaassss, some good ol' Moritsugu lo-fi. One ov the trippiest movies imaginable, the WTF? meter is pegged throughout. Such a bizarre film mostly centered around a dumb chick who learns to think on raw pork and another girl who hears plants, interjected at intervals with blaring injections ov raw meat molecules and microcam. I love this shit. Low budget and raw, literally, with dissociated psychedelia(it reeks ov tryptaminergic thoughtwaves and lysergic visuals). Killer soundtrack including Monte Cazazza(!), The Dick Farm, and Moritsugu and Amy Davis' band Low On High. Awesome Claymation, or whatever the fuck it was, pork invasion scene. Definitely not for everyone, but right up my alley.

Free Fire (2017)
7/10, really good start and middle (doesn't bore you, and can be funny) but the ending disappointed me, might all be the drugs I'm on, but some parts of the ending confused me.

You'll definitely like it, It's basically Ray Manzarek's response to the portrayal of Jim Morrison played by Val Kilmer in the big budget "Doors" movie. Ray hated the movie and even said in an interview that Jim Morrison was not at all like how he was portrayed in the film. So I guess he put this one out to set the record straight, so to speak.

i've been on a Kubrick binge.
first it was A Clockwork Orange then Full Metal Jacket then Dr. Strangelove then 2001 then today i watched Eyes Wide Jacket up next Paths Of Glory (one of the few i haven't seen yet.)
(probably down the road i'l get to my [so-far] favorite Kubrick film, Barry Lyndon.)

Yeah, I've heard in other places that that movie was inaccurate. I read a biography of Jim Morrison once and it did not jibe with the movie. I look forward to seeing this.
And yeah, akira -- Kubrick is my favorite director.
