This is just a snippet of what I found today, there were oysters everywhere!
I found 10+ different spots with HUGE clusters way too high in the tree for me to reach, biggest tease!
PINS

Mutant

Had to get a boost for these

Zoom in for these

Sorry for so many pictures, it was a fun nettle filled day.
Had to knock this cluster down with a long ass branch.

Mushroom hunting in an arid climate is hard. I dont have giant forests filled with mushroom. They are few and far between out here

It is convenient having a forest with in walking distance from my house.
What area are you in if I might ask?
From my experience when i find oysters in an area there are usually more on other trees and fallen branches around that area.

Colorado. and no. these are the only mushrooms growing in the entire park I goto everyday for lunch. I just like walking around the park on my break, but I also look for mush, even thou there aint none there.
on the weekends, I travel about 30 minutes to some good huntin grounds in the mountains where there is actually deciduous growth.
Ive got about 15 years of huntin experience, thou. Most in WV. ill post some of my old hunts

The bucket pole is nearly complete, for all those hard to reach oysters.

That's a great idea, how did you fasten it to the pole?

The pole has a threaded end so I drilled a hole in the bottom of the box and the threading screwed right in.
Im going to get some nuts and washers today to put on either side of the threading to make the bucket more sturdy, then ill be ready to hit the forest.
