I started getting into the first season when it came out but for some reason I stopped watching it. I remember it being good though.
Definitely going to start from the beginning since I've just been replaying the two new Silicon Valley episodes all week and have been looking for a new show to watch lol

Fucking finally. I've been waiting for that one for awhile. The show at first just seemed confusing and boring and then at some point it just hooked me and I wanted to know everything.

Yeah it's definitely a little weird, at first. By about ep4 I was hooked, but the full story wasn't really explained until much later in the season.

Might check it out. It's on my list to watch.
But this season's TV is all about The Leftovers, Fargo, Veep, and Better Call Saul, IMO. The Leftovers has, so far, been the best shit I've ever seen.

My favorite shows in order: The Leftovers The Wire Breaking Bad Sopranos
X files might be 9 or 10 if I listed a top 10, although it likely wouldn't be in my top 10 list at all. Love the show, seen it through twice and watched various episodes by themselves more often than that.

My wife and I have started watching The Leftovers, just this past week. We're on episode 5, I think. It hasn't really left me wanting more, though. Does it get better? Are they going anywhere with all the Christian undertones?

The show picks up around episode 6. Season 1 is harder to get through because the show doesn't find its footing until toward the end of the first season. Season 2 is literally the best TV season that's ever happened.

I think Sense8 is my favorite Netflix Original (and I like all of them I've seen so far, some would make the top 10 list of shows to watch from the last 10 years if I were to make it). I'm kinda mad at you now if you hadn't made this thread tomorrow I would've just seen Sense8 x264 02x01 or whatever the file name is on my torrent site. Now I gotta wait a whole 24 hours!

As for the Christian undertones I think you're looking at it wrong. Sure, there are PLENTY of them, but if you notice in the show hope is always balanced out with despair. Belief is always balanced out with cynicism. To me, there's so much nuance in The Leftovers that the whole picture couldn't really be painted as something Christian. The first season is a meditation on grief and suffering of loss, how people cope, etc. Like the dogs and the guy shooting them, for instance, the dogs are black and represent Kevin's fragile mental state. The deer represents freedom--for Kevin anyway, yet it's constantly being trapped in enclosed places. Then the dogs kill the deer. Is the hunter guy that shows up all outta nowhere even real? Is he Kevin's last hope to not be consumed by these dogs? Are the dogs even real? My theory is that the Guilty Remnant represent depression, and how people fall into it. The big sign from the first episode said "stop wasting your breath," and depressed people often feel like saying something is just a waste of breath. And people fall into depression just like they fall into the GR, leaving family, leaving hope, etc. IDK man the show is something to be dissected.

I just finished it. I've been looking forward to a second season since minute I finished the first one. I am glad to say I was not disappointed after the wait. This season was just magical. I really hope they can keep the steam and outdo themselves on season 3. So glad it did not end on a cliff hanger because near the end of the last episode it really, really looks like they're going to leave it on one.

Lol I just finished it, too! Great season! Better than the first, it got right into the action and they moved the plot ahead nicely by the end of episode one!

I found out kind of accidentally that the show makes a lot more sense (or is easier to follow) while on (moderate doses) Ketamine, which I find interesting. You would think it would make the intricate plot more difficult to understand/follow but for some reason the two really go together. Especially the way the plot jumps around with all of them dealing with everyday life while trying to help each other in each other's lives. I'm not sure why but when I'm sober I kind of have a hard time with all the switching and keeping up with the 100 things going on any given time, but on the K it just seems to flow so naturally and beautifully, I can slip effortlessly between the story lines or scenery or mood, and I don't miss a thing.
I really am in awe of this show though. I'm going to be sad the day the story ends or they cancel it. It's going to be like saying goodbye to really good friend you know you'll probably never see again.

I saw the first couple episodes and had no interest in continuing. Wachowski brothers/sisters trying to push their particular agenda harder than ever.

I just finished the whole season in like a day . I've been waiting forever for it to come out since it premiered. I'd say it is my top second series to be obsessed with, right after Jessica Jones. I'm glad they started hinting more at other sensates and furthering the main storyline in this season as well.
I never really got into the Leftovers.
