How does a "wild cubensis" actually happen?

PE is VERY much stronger than most cube varieties. How? Can there be some crazy wild cube varitety that is extremely great? Or no?

I think PE is a genetic mutation that is very hard and uncommon to pull off, but is it random? I have 3 or 4 "wild" cube prints. any chance they're something extra special, or unlikely?

I imagine it is the same crap shoot as most other varieties are from MS.

But it's all a variation of something named, yes? Unless "undiscovered" I guess, but a wild cube in Koh Samui, is likely a "Koh Samui super strain" spore that landed somewhere?

I don't know. Can you find a cube in the wild and just call it whatever the fuck you want and that's how all cube varieties started? Is there any true difference from cube to a cube? I know they say a cubes a cube a cube. But literally? Like a GT and a b+ are two mushrooms from the same package at the store, that somebody called different?

I know PE varieties and KSSS are "modified" but the rest are standard. Standard as in the same pack of mushrooms standard?

Find a cube, clone the best for genetic specifics or differentiation, give it a a Name, give away spore print.

You just started a variety!

yes, but usually people put some work into isolating genetic traits to atleast improve yields.

Dense milkiness, and failure to colonize a portion.
I had some. Millet/sorghum that did the same. Two jars.
I still got a few flushes Out of them in a mini, but kept them âway from the other jars when spawning. They had a sweet smell too. Rinsed off all the unused grains also when spawning. And there was some slimy news on those. How did you innoc those jars? Have any pics is it was Agar plate?

If it was bacteria causing that, the un colonized part would be toward the bottom.

I'm pretty sure it's just dryness causing the uncolonized part. it may have a very small amount of bacteria but this jar is one of my cleanest. it was a G2G candidate. good thing it's going straight to spawn

Well I think of it like the landrace genetics of cannabis. All cannabis started with wild patches around the globe. Over well, thousands of years some of these have been bred. 1st from local seeds, but in modern day from stock all over the world. We are still in the very early stages of mushroom cultivations as far as human history. We are still "taming" landrace genetics for the most part. This is only my opinion or view, this is happily open for conversation. So the KSSS would be a land race genetic that has many strains in it. Just like land race cannabis can have many phenotypes, though I seriously doubt any where near as many as the shrooms. Different geographical zones will cause variations on a species. When the environment affect the variation, that is a phenotype.

So some people throw names on them and some name them after the area they come from. We do have some true high breeds such as APE and PE6 for sure. The rest were just picked from around the world in different geographical zones, thus resulting in dramatic variations in some instances. It is possible, but highly unlikely, that some isolated phenotypes evolved with higher chemical content.

look at mushrooms like people. each one is it's own "strain" but one from america is a different "variety" than one from Puerto Rico just like a person from america is a different race than a person from Puerto rico

i also look at people like mushrooms.

but its more like, i see so many fucked up attempts.. and you try to give advice but you
are met with hostility instead. all the while you are having a blast doing things the
best ways based off of proven methods to increase quality of the life cycle.

wait.. what?

you know, if you didn't let your agar dry in there you wouldn't have trouble cleaning them  :thatsinteresting:

PE and KSSS aren't modified. They are genetic mutations that were stabilized through multiple generations.

Cubes grow in the wild, moab. One day, people like terrance and dennis McKenna, john allen, and others went out into
the world hunting for wild mushrooms. They took spore prints of what they found and brought them back to the US for
attempted indoor cultivation and stabilization of preferable phenotypes. Almost every mushroom variety that we have
today came from their original escapades in the early 70s.

They grew them here and isolated what they wanted to. They then named the stabilized phenotypes different names.
There are plenty of varieties today (Pink buffalo, KSS, creeper, etc.) that all come from the same exact area. Like
the ones I just named were all supposedly stabilized from cubes found in Thailand.

If you find a wild cube in your area, you could stabilize a phenotype then name it whatever you want.

PE, KSSS, AA+, etc. are all mutated cubes that were stabilized through multiple generations, nothing about them is
"modified" by conventional definitions of the term.
