either your filter is allowing the top of your grain to dry out or you under hydrated your grain while prepping it.
def dried out, happend to me with Sclerotia jars, eventually colonized it to 100%

They are leucistic GT that are growing on clusters of regular colored GT.

Tallest and most dense of all the white cubes I've grown. Near solid stipe.
Still have the second flush etc. coming up. Might grab one.
Those are some pretty LGT's!

My wild Texas cube clone is pinning like mad.
This is what happens when you move, bend, flex your tubs to much and make a gap between sub and tub wall.

Dense milkiness, and failure to colonize a portion. I had some. Millet/sorghum that did the same. Two jars. I still got a few flushes Out of them in a mini, but kept them âway from the other jars when spawning. They had a sweet smell too. Rinsed off all the unused grains also when spawning. And there was some slimy news on those. How did you innoc those jars? Have any pics is it was Agar plate?

Try a crazy high spawn ratio. My sig PE pic is 5 quarts of spawn to half a bucket Tek, in a mini monotub. That's first flush. Got about a billion more pins coming in...

If you recal, I got some bacterial blotches on my shrooms from over misting. Maybe I should bottom water? Don't really know how with the liner... just give it some water for a few hours, then drain it? Every day?

If it was bacteria causing that, the un colonized part would be toward the bottom.

Should I give it a 12 hour bottom watering and drain after the first flush?
