I've got some tubes of silicone rubber that I get free at work. It's made for electricians, and rated at 400°F. It's water proof, sealing, bonding, flexible, high strength, and clear. Should work right? Here is a link to the product page. Thanks!

We have always used 100% silicone rubber RTV is 100% silicone. Kitchen and bath 100% silicone is RTV too it smells like vinegar and vulcanization happens at room temperature
The stuff called RTV is usually in automotive and it dries harder so it doesn't work as well as the kitchen stuff IMO

I think I'll give it a shot. It skins in 5 minutes at room temp, drys to the touch in 7hrs, and is fully cured in 24.

I voted yes earlier one. I am now interested to know why someone voted no, did they have problems using silicone similar to the one you linked?
I have used many types like the one linked over the years, no problem with any. I prefer clear so I can see the hole. If making ships in clear plastic I run a permanent marker around the edge of the hole so it is more visible. With non clear silicone people will push the silicone through he hole from the bottom before it sets so it make a little bump so you know where the hole is.

I'm not sure, but people at Myco-Tek are saying use it as well. When I went in the supply room at work today and saw it, I figured "why not?" I wanted clear for that exact reason btw. I've always wondered that.

The stuff you posted is literally what is recommended for self healing injection ports.
Any 100% silicone rubber works. Some work better for sure. Everyone likes to use automotive RTV and that imo is the worst since it's more brittle when dry than most other silicone formulations

It's funny 100% silicone comes in many varieties. Since its 100% it shouldn't be so but they do use additives. Some have higher temperature ratings from having metal additives some may be more dielectric for electrical applications, kitchen bath stuff has mildew resistance added
