Fruiting mushrooms in a weed veg room. Is it ok?
    #24278991 - 04/28/17 02:53 PM (7 years, 8 months ago)

What do people think about doing this? The temp is around 78 deg and high humidity. Will the plants encourage contaminates?

Is it that humid? Hard to say from what I know

Would sure be cool if you could get the right plant, cannabis or otherwise, to recycle all of the mushrooms CO2 into oxygen and vice versa, creating a perfect gas cycle.

I have successfully fruited lions mane in a SGFC, with a cool mist humidifier running right next to it 24hrs a day in my veg room. The biggest problem was keeping the humidity up with the heat from the lights and the circulation and exhaust fans running 18 hrs a day. But, if you say that your humidity is already quite high it might work without a humidifier, although high humidity in your grow room can be a magnet for powdery mildew and other fungal diseases of cannabis. I try to keep the humidity in my veg room between 50 and 65% for that reason. I've had powdery mildew before and I don't want it again.
    Best of luck

I would say a mono tub, dialed in with micro pore tape, would be the best chance at reducing moisture loss.

Good air exchange in your grow area greatly reduces chance of powdery mildew. I grew in a tent for 4 years and never saw it. I also had one big ass fan/filter that moved 390CFM. The tent was only 2mx2mx2m so it completely exchanged all the air. I was also venting outside.

I've done a couple Shroom grows in a 4  x 4 grow tent I use for botanicals. Kept the temp in the low,70s, and used both a SGFC and mono in there. Worked fine but I suggest using either one of those in addition.

The room is not vented yet and I have a cool mist humidifier going. I'm going to try some in a SGFC on sunday in the room. I'm torn about venting. I think it will drop the humidity to much for the mushrooms

do not combine the two.

bugs, and other factors make it a bad idea. and they are 2 different organisms. you wouldnt put a lion and a rabbit in a cage and go 'but they are ok in nature'..would you?

Yeah I should add that at the time I grew  the shrooms I had nothing else growing in the tent. Just the shrooms.
