Contamination

Hi guys I just recently starting cultivating using the PF tek in about February of this year and, my first six jars were a total success and were colonized, birthed and fruited with no issues. However my next six jars which were inoculated just days after my first batch have yet to have any signs of pinning and have developed this faint yellowish hue over the white mycelium. It is hardly noticeable in most lighting but it has slowly darkened (picture linked below) and I recall reading that certain strains can take much longer to start pinning than others, but I still have to ask for piece of mind. Can anyone tell me if this jar is contaminated?

I don't think so man, probably metabolites. Why hasn't that been birthed yet? How long has it been consolidating?

jar looks fine. loose the foil. are you waiting to birth them once they pin?
id fruit that jar right now dont use tall jars they can stall out. pf tek substrate is dense as f.

What if I grind the brf a little bit chunky? I have tall 8oz jars too.

Naw, it works man. After a 24 hr dunk they soften a bit. Or use a cheese grater, but that's not how I roll.
And yes, fingers made Of titantium, helps that I'm wolverine

yah ive always tossed cakes in ziplocks and mashed em. a cake isnt a brick of coco.
a colonized cake should have a similar texture to that of freshstep cat litter when its in piss puck form.

Not the cakes, I mean when I'm grinding the brf, would leaving the grains not fully ground aerate the substrate and still do is job when combined with the verm and gypsum?

Yeah, I have one. I used it to make my other jars. But I was wondering if leaving it coarse would keep it from stalling out in tall 8oz jars

Thank god, I was waiting to birth them just because with my first batch when I fruited them before pinning happened the growth of the fruits was very uneven(i.e. with 6-7 fruits on one cake 2-3 of the fruits had fully open caps with the other half a day or two away from the "veil" breaking). Is there a way to avoid this? I recall reading about cold shocking them to initiate pinning, but I don't know much about cold shocking cakes. I also heard that dunking the cakes before the first flush can help the fruits grow more evenly? Any advice on how I should proceed? Also what is the advantage of loosening the foil, I thought the idea was to have the cake be as contamination proof as possible or does it not matter because of the layer of dry verm on top? (Sorry about all the questions man I'm just trying to learn as much as I can so I don't make the same mistakes on my next grow attempt)

Cubes don't need cold Shocking
Verm layer is for contams. Foil is for keeping water out during pc
