Am I gonna need to mist the shit out of this now??
Is this from a clone or spore? Grats on one hell of a nice pin set!
Cheers dude
It's a clone I took last year, made a blenderless LI, innoc straight millet done in a ratio method (no boil straight to PC) then I had to go away for a bit so the spawn spent about six months in the fridge before spawning to bulk.
So I'm gonna up fae and mist like hell and hopefully this will be my best tub yet

Just thought I'd share some of my first flush beauties.

I've been absent awhile, still working on getting an isolate from spores but decided to go ahead and drop 3 full plates, Tiger Drop style (although I cut the whole plate into a bunch of small wedges, probably 30-40 per PastyPlate), and before that had dropped 1/3 of a plate. Trying a couple different grain recipes - really like the milo and oats mix that a friend recommended. A bunch of inoculation points while still being able to retain a lot of moisture.

Here's my sgfc w no lid. I've got double stacked cakes along the outside, single cakes in the middle.
The 4 double stacks on the right hand side are moving along ok. The 4 double stacks to the left are recently fruited so still waiting on pins.
The 3 single cakes in the middle though, have been in for about a week and not much pinning, mostly aerial mycelium. Is this due to lack of FAE? I made my sgfc to spec as far as I know, it's on the larger side though I think. Should I rotate which cakes are along the edge to make sure everyone's getting enough air flow?
Thanks!

Tiamo said: Does this tub look like it's coming along OK to you guys? It's my first one. About 3 Qts of spawn to one brick of coir, 2 Qts of verm, fruited at spawning exactly 7 days ago. Couldn't find a liner to fit my 45L tub... It smells good that's for sure.

Does it still look OK? I was thinking it looked slightly bacterial, am I right? Also, how do the surface conditions look? This is day 12, should be pins in a few days, right?
Day 19 and no knots/pins. Not looking good to me, there's some yellow discoloration, reaction to bacteria? Is it still going to fruit?

Do you open it up a couple times a day? Is there adequate airflow? What kind of lid?

I open it up every morning and night to look at it. Do I need to open it up more? I didn't think that was a requirement.
It's micropore tape, 4 holes at substrate level fully taped and two holes on top half taped.
Clear lid. They get around 12 hours light a day.

Hmm. That all sounds good. I'd say fan a little, but opening. Is good enough. It's gotta be a reaction to something else.

Why no lid? Also, are you following everything else to the tek? Is it elevated and 1' from any surrounding walls? Did you thoroughly rinse and soak the perlite? what about lighting?

No lid just for a clearer view of cakes. Lid has 1/4" holes every 2" same as the tub. It's elevated to a height of 2 stacked 1/2 pint jars (4-5" probably?) Perlite rinsed and soaked, have an overhead light with 2 6500K bulbs

Are they dry? You should probably put the lid. Humidity must not stay high in that thing without it. And your cakes are probably dying out WAY too fast

So many leucistic mushrooms in this tub...There have been a few popping up lately, but this is the most so far...
They are also blue capped which is a bit different here.

I was thinking about that...
It's sooooo nice to be out of petri dishes. I have a strict no cloning/no new variety rule right now. Nope...just nope.
