Sorry to hear about your dog....I know how close we can get with them.....for me, closer than most people. The part you said about waking up not dehydrated struck a chord with me. Yes, it really is nice to wake up rather than come to. Keep at it and keep coming back.

Torturous dehydration racked me constantly when I was drinking. Water wouldn't appease it no matter how much water I drank. It was fucking hellish. I'd get vicious cramps all over my body from it as well.

I just remember that dry pasty mouth and eyes that wouldn't want to open....that fuzzy slowed down thought process. I really doubt I'd be alive if I didn't stop when I did....now a days...I just can't imagine going through that every day, but then, it was just normal. Pretty fucked up thinking.

Man I feel that. I drink more than a gallon when drinking. I strung some days together but when people hand me alcohol I can't help myself.

It could have been a meth pipe or a needle or whatever really. I'm an addict. I quit heroin and started drinking. I hate myself every day. My confidence is gone.

Bro

Man

Listen, you need to make sobriety your top priority

Please man go to AA and NA

Avoid people who threaten your sobriety

Make a commitment to work the program 24 hours (or less) at a time

I know Thay doesn't like this one but you got to put a plug in the jug man

Do whatever it takes

Go to meetings
Get a sponsor
Work the steps
Pray

Do it all man

I know I can be a shithead and I don't anyway claim to rep AA but it's like I want to beg you practically

Please do what it takes to get sober and stay sober

It's really possible. I know this sounds like a cliche but if I could do it (for this long) so can you. I promise you man I was in such bad shape. I can't even explain how my world has changed. Sobriety is out there for you man. It works if you work it. Save your life, dude.

Man my sponsors were my best friends. I learned a lot. Living with a good friend of mine that knew I was sober and started a still in the house I mostly paid for.

I don't want to go all though I live a block from a meeting. I'm scared and failing them fucking breaks my heart. Makes me feel like a piece of trash.

Even though I don't know your group I promise you

I know how it is. I hate admitting fault. That's what made me quit. I don't like to speak in front of 5 or more people. And to admit fault which I did twice made me stop going.

I don't like to talk. I like to listen. I learned to paint and survey land. I failed you. I'm sorry.

My group was in Montana. I'm back in Washington now. Living at my ma's house. I asked her are you sober? As she was dieing in a hospital for 4 months.

Yes. Nope. She just went to the hospital again from drinking. Addiction is in my blood. I hate myself every day who has a clean?

I love depressants. I'm depressed constantly when I drink. When my dog died and I was sober I couldnt cry. Thats what fucked me up. My dog my best friend was put down and I didn't get to say goodbye and give him a nose

It's been like 4 months I'm sorry I keep bringing It up. I'm praying to whatever God I don't wake up with wds.

More or less. Getting away from it is incredibly hard. I live with my parents which are Alcoholics. In Montana I was sober and my friend set up a still in my house. What. The. Fuck. That's why I came back here but nothing has changed here. It's frustrating as fuck.

Even though you think this feeling is unshakable and there is no light at the end of the tunnel...there is a way up and a way out. FSR is right...if people like him and I can get sober....so can you.

If you are too indisposed to get out to a meeting, there are online meetings every day....maybe join into one...you can do this. No one in AA will chastise you for going out and drinking....hell, drinking is natural to an alcoholic....not drinking is the unnatural part and that is why we need help. Just remember, as bad as you may feel...others have felt the same and recovered.

Coming up on 4 months sober. Going to at least 6 meetings a week, and i have commitments at 3 of them.

Also working on my 4th step with my sponsor.

Second time getting sober, and i think it's going much better than the first, as i'm not fixated on an unhealthy relationship this time. It's allowed me to get to know people in AA in a new area (San Francisco) much more quickly and thoroughly.

Fell off the wagon pretty hard and had way too much fun wensday celebrating some friends birthdays.  Man work was brutal Thursday.

Was drinking from like 10am to 1am without anything in my tummy but breakfast.  It was a nice reminder of why i don't like to do that anymore.

So back on the wagon i suppose day 4 as its sunday now.  Everything is gong will currently in life so it i shouldn't have and triggers.

When i decided to fall off last week it was like a subconscious thought about reaching out to some drinking friends then the cat was out of the bag. It was like wow im already seeking it out in a round about way i might as well just start.

Was interesting to go through that little trap, we tend to know how to push our own buttons to feel justified.

Really still love to drink and did have a ton of fun but man Thursday work was the flip side to that.
