What are the facts about drying without a dehydrator?

I've probably read 20+ articles about drying without a dehydrator or desiccant, all of which have confounding information. Some people say that fan drying for several days doesn't affect potency loss, while others say the reason behind using a dehydrator is to dry and seal the mushrooms as quickly as possible, as oxygen degrades Psilocybin. And some people say oven-drying will cause potency lost, regardless if the door is ajar, properly fanned and set under 200-300F, while others say it will not.
What are the facts about drying without a dehydrator? Specifically, I have thought about fan drying and perhaps oven-drying a few. Those are my best options that I know of at the moment.
And before someone says "Just buy a dehydrator at Walmart for $30": I don't have a dehydrator or desiccant. I ordered a dehydrator online with express shipping, because I needed it soon. Unfortunately, the person I bought it from shipped my dehydrator with the slowest shipping option and pocketed the excess money that was meant for express shipping. I'm in the process of getting a refund on shipping, while my dehydrator won't arrive for another 5-6 days. I need it now.
Thanks, everyone!

Do a search for posts newer than 3 years and click the trusted cultivator box. And posts must have at least 20-30 words to weed out short replies.
There's your non conflicting info

I have always put down some newsprint and put the mushrooms on that and kept the things under my bed for a few days - stealth- pulled them out and good to go. not cracker dry but close enough. You can freeze wet ones if you have the space and there will be absolutely no loss of potency. You just have to drop them in boiling water right away after they come out of the deep freeze . Don't try drying after freezing . You could freeze dry them of course.

try goodwill. my dehydrator was 5.56 usd.
using a dehydrator is the only real way. anyone who says anything about over drying is retarded. the oven tek idea works but is a pain to have a oven on and ajar for 24hrs. other methods(desiccant chambers/fan drying) will only give your shrooms a few weeks shelf life. if that.
you need heat, roughly 200f, a fan to move the air. and a vessel to hold the mushrooms and hold the hot air as it moves. be creative...hair dryers..space heaters..or..
buy another dehydrator. have 2!!

Don't have a dehydrator, but still want to get your shrooms cracker dry? Here's how:
1. Buy a dehydrator. 2. Put your shrooms in it.
