box with compressor ventilation
    #24266600 - 04/23/17 03:32 PM (7 years, 8 months ago)

Hello, guys! Need your advice. If there is a compressor in my box (a tube into which air will be fed into the water at the bottom of the box), should I do ventilation (open the lid once a day)?

there should NOT be water in the bottom of a box your trying to grow mushrooms in, not unless you have one hell of a pin set and really really need to bottom water. A pic would be helpful, but this sounds bad.

What he said.
There should not be a compressor either.

Noob tip: if it's electrical or mechanical, it's not helpful for growing mushrooms.

That is not entirely true, depend son your setup. Usually those thing only help BIG, automated setups though.

I really doubt the guy asking about the inch of water in his tub is ever going to find himself running an automated warehouse scale cube grow.

:uhno:

thats the worst chamber i think ive ever seen.
they all have 1 thing in common tho. they do not work.

just drill holes in plastic an add damp perlite. OR DONT

why are you making this so unnecessarily, ridiculously complicated?

:tard:

I have no opportunity to ventilate box every day
in method at the image no need ventilation
may be you have some recommendations to no ventilation process?

About drilling holes - you talking about external(big) box? What material do you use for sealing hole?

Do I need make holes in a bottom of internal(small) boxes, if I put it on perlite?

Thanx for help

Im desgining a FC and grow box in one for desktop use. Holds 2 cakes at a time, would anyone be interested in this desgine ? Its made out of laminated paper or you can buy foam board to construct it. Uses 2 pc fans and a phone charger usb for power. No lighting on board, uses room lighting.

Would anyone care about it? If no then i wont wast the time on the idea. Its mostly for people who dont wish to grow bulk, but grow a peraonal bunch. It sets on a desk and has air filtration ( not on a timer ) jist connected to a high load switch that can be pulled out of any electeonic toy or appliance.

All the parts are sourced from freinds or my self. So i assume that others would have no trouble in finding parts.

Im sure everyone has some comouter paper and glue and a few screws laying around for mounts. I have half of the thing built for a friend.

So questions:

Should i post the desgine ?
Would ppl care about it or use it ?
Should i even waste my time on it ?

Dimensions: 10x10x13 inches.

Ventilate box? SGFC's and Monotubs are passive. You don't have to fan them. Look them up.

Use polyfil or micropore tape to cover your holes, but even that isn't really necessary.

Don't. I can grow two cakes on my desk with a SGFC (a plastic box with holes and perlite) just a passively and probably more effectively.

This website is home to the best mushroom cultivators on the planet and has been around 20 years. If you scroll around you will find people have grown mushrooms about everywhere, in any quantity, automatically using exactly zero electrical/mechanical contraptions.

You will in fact be hard pressed to find anyone who has grown a single mushroom with such devices.

How many holes I must drill in 12x8x10 inches size box?
Do I need make holes in the bottom of internal boxes with substract(small boxes inside fruiting chamber), if I put it on perlite?

....substact?

I can grow 2 cakes on my desktop with no FC
To answer the last 3 questions
Yes good for a laugh
Probably not we need to see it to judge
Probably not the chambers that are out there now are as good as it gets and stupidly simple, by making it more complicated your taking away what makes it so successful
